ParticipantHello,
I’m a designer/developer working on your theme for my client, and first let me say thank you for your documentation and thoroughness with this theme. The site is still a work in progress, and some sections aren’t finished yet. Yesterday at some point I discovered a pretty big issue: the homepage now redirects to a “Nothing Found” page instead of loading content. The content is there when you click on the welcome page, but not on site URL. Incidentally, and possibly related, the layout of this page went all crazy for a little while, but somehow I managed to get it back in line (the code was in there but didn’t render correctly). The only thing that still isn’t working is the background on the register section isn’t displaying. But that is a minor issue compared with “Nothing Found” on the homepage!
Now, I was trying to think what I was doing when this happened- I was working on buddypress and membership pro, going through settings and customizing, and didn’t click the homepage for a while so I’m not sure what happened exactly to cause this. I tried to deactivate these plugins, in fact ALL plugins, but this issue remained. I also changed the theme to test it, still no content on the homepage. Have you encountered this problem before? I don’t know where to look next..
BTW, the nothing found page seems to be a different page than the 404 template, so that’s a bit confusing as well…
Thank you very much for your help with this,
Gal

ParticipantFigured it out! Front page was set to display posts instead of a static page, and since I have no posts it showed an unfound page. I have no idea how that happened, I did not do that! 🙂

KeymasterHi, That is the way it is by default when you install WordPress. It was covered in the video tutorial 🙂
Glad you figured it out

ParticipantThanks Abe. It was set to static page, but reverted at some point.
I have a new issue: I’m still in testing mode and I’ve added a few users to text interactions. But in the last couple of days I’m no longer able to add users- after I register with a new email & password, it takes me to membership page and then it asks to login again if i want to select a plan. However the new user isn’t recognized and isn’t in the system.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks again.March 17, 2014 at 23:25 #12877Abe
KeymasterSee any settings you have done recently related to Paid memberships Pro plugin or Buddypress

ParticipantSeems to have been a plugin conflict- I disabled “Theme My Login” and back to normal now.
My client was the one who initially installed the theme and some plugins, so I’m not sure if this plugin is critical to functionality? Thanks for your help.

KeymasterIt is not a must have plugin Theme My Login. It just adds some front-end pages for login
