Hello,
I cannot locate the folder with the demo sliders that are supposed to be included with the Slider Revolution plugin. I am looking specifically for the Ken Burns full screen files.
Please don’t tell me that I am going to have to purchase the slider (again) in order to have access to those demos. That would be very redundant, costly and ethically questionable, especially since you are marketing the plugin to sell your products.
I will be satisfied if you simply sent the missing folder, titled: “example-zips”.
Thank you.
June 7, 2015 at 18:28 #61419sharmstrModeratorI personally dont have access to those, but there’s a Ken Burns full screen demo download on page2 here: http://revolution.themepunch.com/example-downloads/

June 9, 2015 at 02:27 #61639scottmrileyParticipantI tend to make things more difficult that I need to and I made a mess of the Default Home page of the Kleo Community theme. I want to delete it and start over, but every time I try to download the page from the demo link I can’t find it. It says that the page was downloaded, but it doesn’t appear in the pages list. Please help!

June 9, 2015 at 09:09 #61666scottmrileyParticipantI got that. The problem is, the page isn’t showing up. I get a message that the page downloaded, but I can’t find it anywhere.
June 9, 2015 at 10:43 #61669sharmstrModeratorDownloaded? It imports it into the db. The go to wp admin > pages and search for “home”.
Anyhow: Make sure you complete delete (out of the trash too) the old one first.

June 11, 2015 at 04:54 #61943scottmrileyParticipantSharmstr,
I’m having a number of issues with this theme. I’ve spent a lot of time trying to figure them out prior to contacting you. I’m very frustrated.
1. Main menu font colors: How can I change the font colors of the main menu? I’m using the Community home default. I would like to have a white background for the logo, but since the menu is white it cannot be seen. I cannot figure out how to change it. I’ve tried the options under theme and appearance (over and over and over), but nothing works.
2. Header styling options: Where are the layout and styling options for the header? It’s obviously wrapped in some type of page overlay, and without access it makes it very difficult to proportion the other page columns and elements. The parameters displayed in “Header options” in the “Theme options” menu are quite limited and don’t contain margins, padding, color, font and other styling settings, etc.
3. Ken Burns Slider layout: I’m using the Ken Burns slider at the top of the page. There are 3 layouts: full screen, full width and boxed. They all display full screen. I’ve tried adjusting the layout options in the slider controls and in the layout options under theme. Nothing works. I want to adjust the height, or use a boxed layout.
4. Image carousel shortcode: Is there something wrong with this shortcode? I cannot adjust the display size of the carousel images. I’ve tried “medium, small, thumbnail”, and pixel dimensions. It refuses to change from full screen.
5. Sidebars: There must be a way to insert a sidebar on a page in a section underneath a full-width section, slider or element, but I cannot figure out how to do it. I’m trying to create a Facebook type layout under the slider. Doesn’t the theme support html sections on a page?
I also explored changing the global page layout setting in the theme, but that doesn’t change anything either. Something is overriding everything else.
Thank you for your help!
Scott Riley

June 12, 2015 at 01:10 #62244scottmrileyParticipantI’m having trouble updating. I’ve entered my u/n and API Key in the update manager several times and the program tells me that the theme is up to date. But it’s not. The version installed is 2.4.3. I downloaded the zip folder again, but I’m not sure how to upload it as an update. What should I do?
Another thing: the page that is being displayed as the index page is nothing like the home page I am designing. I don’t know what page it actually is. It looks like the breadcrumb title says “Blog”, but I’ve changed the blog pages to “draft” and it is still showing. What should I do?
I did A LOT of work on the Ken Burns slider and I do not want to lose it, but I also don’t know how to back anything up in WordPress. Please help asap!
June 12, 2015 at 01:19 #62248sharmstrModeratorHere’s how to update manually: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/steps-to-update-kleo-theme
A common mistake is to input your Kleo licence key instead of an API key that YOU have to create in your theme forest profile.
Sounds like you aren’t too familiar with WP. If you have the Blog page you are designing set as your blog page in WP then you shouldn’t be adding anything to it. WP uses whatever page you have set as the page to display your post as a placeholder to do all its magic. Rename that page you are working on to something else and change the permalink. Then create a new page and call it blog and save it without changing anythings else on the page. Then go to WP Admin > Settings > Reading and set your posts page to the new Blog page you created.
Once you’ve updated let me know.

June 12, 2015 at 01:32 #62253scottmrileyParticipantNow…an update notice appeared in my wp-admin themes folder. When I click the “update now” button, this is what I get:
Update Theme
Download failed. Forbidden
Return to Themes page
wtf?
This is getting old really fast.
June 12, 2015 at 01:34 #62254scottmrileyParticipantOne other thing. I did a bug check on the currently installed theme (2.4.3). I will attached the result in a Word (.txt) doc.
Have all of these issues been addressed in the new theme?

June 12, 2015 at 01:37 #62258sharmstrModeratorHmm. That didnt happen on my 7 sites that I’ve upgraded. Do this, start a new topic with “upgrade failed”. This topic is already assigned to me and has so many replies. Starting a new topic will get 7th queen eyes on it and they wont have to sort through all the replies to get to the issue. Once its resolved, head back here and I’ll get you sorted.

June 12, 2015 at 01:42 #62261scottmrileyParticipantActually, after reviewing the log more carefully, I see that the only thing I could have done was not included a “text domain”, and those are only recommendations. The rest is php code and I haven’t touched any of it.
June 12, 2015 at 01:48 #62262scottmrileyParticipantI just went to my ThemeForest account and used the API that was displayed, so maybe that is the problem. I’ll go and create a new one, try it and get back to you. Thank you so much for the very fast responses!
June 12, 2015 at 02:00 #62264sharmstrModeratorI wouldnt worry about those in terms of sorting out the update issue. They all look harmless. You can try turning on debugging and setting display to true. https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG
Then try the update again and see what errors pop up on the screen.

June 12, 2015 at 02:15 #62277scottmrileyParticipantOkay, that did it. Thanks.
So, regarding the index page. I guess I don’t really understand the WP architecture. I’m used to working in HTML, so I’ve always just named my home page “index”.
The page I’m working was titled “Home Default” (from the demo) and I changed it to “Home”. I didn’t do anything with the pages titled “Blog”, other than look at them. I did try to use the 1 and 2 sidebar pages, but that didn’t work.
So, how do I make the Home page the Home page? You mentioned changing the Permalinks. I reviewed the codex about Permalinks and I don’t quite understand how to work with them. Is there a GUI or do I have to change php code somewhere? I looked at the index.php file in my server directory, but I don’t really want to mess with that if I don’t have to.
I also want to insert a sidebar or two under the main slider, but I can’t figure out how to do that either. I sent a post yesterday (I think) asking if there was a way to work with sections – like in html, but you must have missed that.
Anyway, the main issue at this point is the url directory / menu. Thanks.
June 12, 2015 at 02:18 #62278scottmrileyParticipantOh – I did change the Permalink Settings to “Default”, but it didn’t change anything that I can see.
June 12, 2015 at 02:29 #62284sharmstrModeratorGlad you got it sorted.
You need to read up on WordPress. Its nothing like a straight html site. While we answer a lot of non-Kleo related questions here, we really dont have the time or resources to teach you how to use WP.
With that said, I didnt mean change your site wide permalinks. I said change the permalink for that page. Its under the title. But if you didnt change the blog page, that shouldnt matter. Now, go back to Settings > Permalinks and change it to anything other than default.
Naming a page index isnt going to do anything. WP doesnt work that way. Go to Settings > reading and set your home page and blog page there.

June 12, 2015 at 02:29 #62285scottmrileyParticipantI think I got it figured out. I thought I had already done this, but I guess it switched back. I went to the Customize panel and changed the front page to static and then chose Home from the drop-down list.
Whew… but, can you help me with the sidebar placement issue?
June 12, 2015 at 02:30 #62286sharmstrModeratorSend me a link to the page and tell me exactly what you want

June 12, 2015 at 02:37 #62288scottmrileyParticipantGreat Sharmstr – thank you very much! I’ll be careful not to bother you with WP questions if I can help it.
Okay, so back to my list of theme related issues. Could we look at post #61943 again and sort it out, as you mentioned?
June 12, 2015 at 02:51 #62292scottmrileyParticipantHere is the link again: http://itoto.org. Please let me know if you need to get into the admin panel.
If you would look at the post I sent yesterday (#61943), you will see what I need. You responded with a suggestion to upgrade, which is what started the flurry of posts today. That post pretty much sums up the issues I’ve been having.
June 12, 2015 at 03:20 #62295scottmrileyParticipantSharmstr – are you in my theme right now? All of a sudden none of the theme options will open (I get a 404).
June 12, 2015 at 19:31 #62437sharmstrModeratorNo, I wasn’t. Are you still getting the 404?
I went to your site and once you get the options sorted out, you should turn off “transparent main menu” at the site level. Only turn it on at the page level where you’ll have a image that goes under the menu. Like this: http://seventhqueen.com/themes/kleo/pinterest/
