Slow Site

Hi,

I have recently spoke to a domain provider regarding our website and how slow the loading is for each web page. I have been told the issue is something to do with the theme or plugins. Could anyone advise me on the best thing to do in order to speed our site up? Is there an issue in the back that I may have missed.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
