Is there a way to have a new user step through the profile tabs during registration.
When a new user register, I would like them to be redirected each tab in turn after saving. this will be a seamless way for them to complete their profiles, Buddypress is not all that user friendly for general web users.
I have too many users register with incomplete profiles and they say it is not user friendly.
Making it redirect to the next tab will visually invite more adding data.
This will be a neat feature.
February 9, 2015 at 18:48 #45277LauraModeratorHello, you can set the fields as required to show them in buddypress registration

February 10, 2015 at 00:10 #45335cozy35ParticipantSo if a user saves the base fields the required fields under the “My Self Summary” will become visible? and then like wise if there are required fields under the “Lifestyle and Physical” tabs too?
February 10, 2015 at 00:18 #45337cozy35ParticipantThat did not work. I require that when fields under base is saved it must go to the next tab so user can complete that – complete profile at signup.
February 10, 2015 at 12:51 #45383LauraModeratorHello, add the fields you want to Base Group as required so they will need to add them. I have edited register.php file to show your groups with the required fields, please create a folder in sweetdate child and name it “registration” then inside of it create a new file and name it register.php , inside of that file paste the content of the attached text.
Also, add this to style.css in child themeCOPY CODE.checkbox .label { font: normal 20px 'Arial'; color: #222222; background: transparent; border-top-color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 0.2); border-top-style: dashed; border-top-width: 1px; padding: 10px; }

create folder in wp-content/themes/sweetdate-child/register
create file register.php with code provided in above folder
added css to wp-content/themes/sweetdate-child/style.css
child theme is the active theme
February 10, 2015 at 14:35 #45402cozy35ParticipantIt is not redirecting from base to the next set of fields (MySelf Summary)
Try and create a user on my site http://sweet-date.com and see for yourself – you can remove afterwards
February 10, 2015 at 14:56 #45405LauraModeratorHello, folder name should be registration, not register

February 10, 2015 at 15:09 #45406cozy35ParticipantSorry, my type in the post – it is “registration”. It shows all the fields in base and loads them into respective tabs, but with issues when cropping avatar – you can see for yourself with link provided. Seems to screw with the user profile style.
February 10, 2015 at 16:55 #45429LauraModeratorHello, your link doesnt work, it gives a dns error

February 11, 2015 at 11:32 #45568cozy35ParticipantHello,
That solution is not actually what I want.
Let me try again.
When a user registers and click on “Complete Sign Up” I need them to be redirected to the next group…group2 and then from there to Group3 and then from there to group 4 and in so doing completes all the fields for a full profile.
So the button text “Complete Sign Up” can actually say “Save and Continue”
The problem is that the theme is not very user friendly and I have 80% premium signups not completing their profiles.
If there is a way that will have members get redirected to the succession of group fields to complete, that would be great
February 11, 2015 at 15:05 #45599LauraModeratorHello, the other tabs are under profile in edit, the only way is to guide them to that page, maybe you could use an assistant plugin that activates once they go to their profile and guides them to the profile edit. Also a profile progression so they know there are stuff empty. Let me know if you prefer this

February 11, 2015 at 15:27 #45605cozy35ParticipantThis should actually be a plugin for both Sweetdate and Kleo. I have both. Maybe it should be included as one of the future features.
In the meantime I am posting it as a project on freelancer.
February 11, 2015 at 16:36 #45614LauraModeratorHello, its just how buddypress is made, maybe a freelancer could do this for you, but its difficult
