For some odd reason, the “submit” button on the final step of a new user sign-up page (after they accept the Terms and Conditions) is no longer showing. This prevents any new user from finishing their sign-up. Any idea how to fix this or what might have caused this?
December 3, 2013 at 16:56 #7655MikemusParticipantActually, in digging around a little more, the actual issue seems to be that when a new user tries to create a new account, it is not actually being saved as a new WordPress user. Under my WP General Settings, “Anyone can register” is selected.
I can go in on the back-end and create a new user (as an admin via the WP dashboard), and then sign-in as them to finish the checkout process for a user (select their membership level, etc.).
Users on the front-end cannot do this by themselves.
Any idea why my new users are unable to create a valid WP user account?
December 4, 2013 at 00:14 #7669SQadminKeymasterHi, Please make sure you are using the latest theme version v.2.2 because in an earlier version there was a problem with the button in the popup. See here: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/register-button-gone

When users try to create an account via the front-end, it does not actually create a WP user.
If I go on as admin via the Dashboard, I can create the new user. Then, via the front-end users can use the Username and Password to sign-in.I have checked every parameter I can think of, but nothing alters this behavior. Right now, I have to manually create any new user who wants to register.
Any other ideas for how to fix this? As you can imagine, it is frustrating my new users when the Registration does not work. I am losing many new users who just give up.
December 4, 2013 at 05:46 #7678MikemusParticipantIf you want to see the behavior I am describing, go to my site:
http://models.newpornostar.com
and try to register as a new user.
You will see it is not possible to complete the registration process.December 4, 2013 at 07:24 #7679MikemusParticipantIt gets even more strange. As a test, I installed a plugin called ProfileBuilder. Using this plugin, anyone can register/create a new user account just fine via the front end.
All of this leads me to be believe there is something wrong with this theme. I have deactivated every other plugin, and the behavior does not change.
Is there a way to remove the Signup button in the top menu bar? Login works just fine.
For now, I’d like to remove the Signup option and just direct my users to register via the ProfileBuilder plugin because that works.December 4, 2013 at 08:17 #7680MikemusParticipantSorry for all of the messages – I have been troubleshooting this tonight as you can see. I think I have figured it out, although I am not sure why this worked.
I created a new registration page, replaced that within the BuddyPress settings, and also added the code to my child theme that automatically assigns new users to a basic (Free) account.
For whatever reason, this combination seems to have done the trick. I have been able to successfully register new users via the front-end.
December 4, 2013 at 10:15 #7682SQadminKeymasterWe are glad you figured it out.
Cheers
