Subscriber Spam > Site & WP Admin Down

Hi there,

My hosting company (Dreamhost) was completely useless on this problem so I thought I would post here.

Ever since I installed Kleo, I have been getting bogus subscribers (I don’t even have a subscribe option on my site). So I installed the “Stop Spammers Plugin” to stop this from happening (which it didn’t).

Aside from that, I only have the recommended plugins for Kleo.

My site is down and while I can log into my WP dashboard, I can’t make any changes without it going to an error page.

My host said that I need to deactivate all my plugins via FTP and one by one re activate to solve the issue.

I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem with the recommended Kleo plugins and/if anyone knows how to disable folks from subscribing?

My advice :
1. disable user registration via phpmyadmin
2. delete spam users
3. export database
4. reinstall wordpress + kleo theme + import database.
5. Install buddypress recapcha or wang guard.

I’ve been facing the spam issues myself. Wang guard is unable to do the job.
