Sweet date memberships restriction without PmPro?

I am trying to manage a site not accepting any payment, thus Pmpro is not needed.
However I’d love to have the Memberships restriction function in the Sweetdate theme remain.
Is it possible to have the memberships restriction to work with WP roles instead of Pmpro levels?

If you only need to restrict your content base on user roles then you can easily use the following plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/restrict-content/

restrict content does not work for me for some reason, however I found a work around that syncs wordpress role with PMpro levels.
So Problem Solved.
