Sweetdate account creation

Hi,

I am having a few issues and a little trouble understanding something. When I create a new account, it isn’t letting me change the “can be seen by” fields. It is defaulted to “everyone” and won’t allow me to change it in the appropriate area.
I have 3 fields that have “Name” and would like it to be one or 2 at the most, with a name and a nickname field maybe. How can I change this?

When a new user signs up, and confirms from their email..on the first login it takes them to a a wordpress dashboard with even some of the admin details like:
1. Add this site to IWP Admin panel
2. Attention: the development and maintenance of the “Comprehensive Google Map Plugin” has been discontinued!

After signup is it supposed to create a WP dashboard for the new members? There is no way for them to get back to it unless they logout and log back in….

Tennis is spelled wrong in the interest area…how can I change that?

AS soon as I click on visit site, it takes me to this (see “after wp site” jpeg screenshot)

I would like it to go to the members profile instead. How do I accomplish this?

When I fill out the members profile in the WP dashboard, The “Looking for” section only show up:

Things I am looking for in a person are:

And the “about me” section doesn’t allow me to click on it so that it changes.

When users go to http://www.mysite.com/sweetdatename.com I would like it to go to the page that I am in the process of creating with the login and registration for there. Currently it is the Home 2 page with the rev.slider there…this is where I want to list the features and benefits of the site.

Can you tell me how I can accomplish these things?

Correction, that would obviously be http://www.mysite.com/sweetdatename =)

Hello, those fields come by default with the theme, but you can add as much as you want, fields and groups, if you want, we can do this, first try to solve the other issues then guide you with the fields.
For that i would need your ftp and wordpress access 🙂

I actually wanted to either change the name of some of the fields …I don’t think that 3 names are required so maybe if I can change them it would be better or delete 1 or 2.

Hello, to be more organized, i would like you to order each problem with points, 1,2,3… So we can solve them one by one.

First i noticed your website has too many plugins, some of them are blocking others, and blocking functionalities of buddypress. Please before anything test your settings deactivating some plugins until you find the ones that are blocking stuff. For helping you to do this, profile fields under users should be like the attachment i sent you, right now its not shown like that in your menu.

Sorry, I didn’t understand the attachment completely…but when I deactivated most of the plugins some of them still showed up on the site.

Hello, what i meant with the attachment is that Profile Fields need to look that way, if not it means some plugin is blocking it.

Issues:

3. On the home-2 page(which will have the http://www.themajesticsociety.com/thelovezone address) I would like the animation to work for the groups of interest, members online for women and men and also topics created, like it has on the live preview demo version.

4. I would like the Top Members feature to be on the http://www.themajesticsociety.com/thelovezone page as well like the demo.

5. Recently active User groups on the http://www.themajesticsociety.com/thelovezone page like it has on the demo

6. When creating account I would like there to be only 1 field for the name, 2 at the most. Right now there are 3 fields for mine, however for the demo there is only 1. For the 2nd name I would like it to say “nickname” if that is possible…if not then I would like it to stay at just 1 name.

7. The fields below the name where it says “This field can be seen by Everyone”…it allows me to change on the demo version…but not my site.
8. I would like to know where the terms and conditions page is so that I can set mine up .

11. Looking further I see that the dashboard is where the forums and groups can be created…is this for all members? The Newly created members don’t have this option.

12. My page seems to be too wide…I have a scroll bar at the bottom instead of it fitting the screen perfectly.

13. When members update their profile, I am getting this message in the dashboard area:
Sorry, but you do not have the correct permissions to activate the Paid Memberships Pro plugin. Contact the administrator of this site for help on getting the plugin activated

Changing the “this field can be seen by”….doesn’t work….it goes back to “Everyone” even when I update the profile.

14. this is my default shop http://www.themajesticsociety.com/thelovezone/default-shop/ I know that I will have to add some things in order to make it look like the demo version but I would like to know how I can do that. Even adding photos in the woocommerce area isn’t working for me.

16. Members cannot create a group or a forum.

There are more issues but I think this is plenty for now. Importantly is the fact that I removed some plugins and they are still on the site.

The demo version of sweetdate doesn’t look like the SS that you sent me either…it looks more like the one that I have.

Hello, please go to Users > Profile Fields and compare that with my screenshot, it needs to look like mine, so deactivate plugins until you find it alike, that will mean that the plugin you deactivated was the problem.
After that, we can start solving your list of problems 🙂

I have deactivated all of them except for the buddypress…when I deactivate the buddypress it says that I do not have sufficient permission to access the page.

I’ve been working on the normal template =(…lol and have actually been making some gain when changing the site. But I will activate the child theme as you instructed, but can you briefly tell me the difference between the two?

I’ve been activating my plugins and haven’t seen any change, although I have only about 15 right now…Do you have a maximum number of plugins suggestion?

Hello, the difference is that if you modify files in normal theme, when theme has an update and you update it, all your changes would be lost. In child theme is where you place the files you edite so they dont change in an update, for example, all functions should be added to functions.php in child theme so they will always remain there even if you update sweetdate and functions.php changes, yours will be always safe.

I think I get it…it seems like the child theme would be the base theme, I guess. When I see child I was thinking of something that is less than the parent.

Anyways =) I’m working on it a bit better now and it is coming to me. There are fewer changes that I need and some are different from the original issues that I had. I think it’s just a understanding of what goes where. The profile fields are okay now, I don’t think that will be an issue. Switching the home 2 page to make it the main homepage…/thelovezone is something that I have yet to figure out but I’m thinking that it’s just a matter of changing the permalinks? I haven’t tried it yet.

Can you help me out with #’s 3, 4 & 5 for starters?

Hello, for 3,4,5 just copy the home demo at the documentation, with all the shortcodes and then edit it as you want.
Members forum will be active if you install bbpress, then go to bbpress config and set up the forum pages, then you can add it to your menu.

Got it….But when you say the home demo…my demo looks like it has errors in the code. Maybe I am looking at something different than what you are saying. That should be pretty simple for me to do as long as I see where it is. I checked on all of the pages and it looks like they all have or had some sort of errors…like the home-2 page.

How about #10, 12, & 15? That is actually all that I need for now, the rest is just a matter of me clicking around I think.

12, In what browser are you testing it? i used chrome and see it perfectly.
15, All your shortcodes are not working.

So…actually your website is having some kind of blocking… i would suggest disabling the plugins that are not suggested, and until it works, then activate them one by one, checking if everything is ok. It could be also some functions that doesnt work, any file you could have edited… Try what i told you, if not, then i suggest replacing sweetdate for the original.

Hello, i think the best thing to do is to hire a developer to do it for you. If you edited files in Sweetdate before errors started then maybe it is a corrupted file you should re-install sweetdate. But yes, i would probably hire a developer to solve it.

Sorry, I more issue. When I activated the BP forum, I’m still not able to have my members go to the forum and I don’t see the page until I click on it through the admin panel.

So right now there is no way that they can reach the forum page and they are not able to create any topics

I switched it to try to do some customizing of this theme, but I will switch it back….Kleo won’t allow me to edit anything like the menus at the top i.e menu 1 menu 2 menu 3 etc and the logos.

I guess I will post that in the Kleo forum after I hear back from you.
