ParticipantHi
we have been having some major issues with the site loading. Β We purchased this theme initially because it answered all the questions we need to prevent customization which costed us a fortune on our old platform. Β The developers were charging us for every little thing that we couldn’t keep up but the site helps us direct traffic to our brick and mortar.
We would really like someone to possibly help us figure out what is causing the site to be so slow. Β Iam very inexperienced with web stuff but manage to get buy with tutorials etc. Β I have been to afraid to do to much to the site in fear it will break and then result in costing us money for our business and to fix the site.
I have found the forums helpful but I cannot get everything sorted and would sincerely appreciate if someone can help and take a look at what we are not doing right on the site.
The he following is what the hosting provider told us and feel it’s against why we would purchase this theme and for seventh queen to create. Β The following is the email j received :
About 5 users going to your site use up all the memory and resources. This is due to the following components that are not scalable or efficient.
1 – Visual Composer – which components do you use? We will then suggest something for it.2 – Slider Revolution – replace with a more efficient one3 – Activity stream – get rid of completely. Think about what can be displayed there instead. After we have disabled these, the resource utilization dropped to 0, which is the way it should be even with some good traffic. We suggest to get rid of those components which will make your site much more pleasant to visit and interact with. Please se let me know what can be done for us. Β I can pay someone for some help. Β Your assistance is much appreciatedFebruary 26, 2016 at 21:52 #106938Laura
ModeratorHello, i’m here to help you, i think its very weird what your hosting told you, because visual composer is the most used page builder and slider revolution its the most famous slider plugin, also the activity stream of buddypress is used by the 90% of buddypress users, so that means every website that use those plugins would be slow, and that is not logic.
Let’s get to the real problem, please share admin credentials and login url of WordPress
I will try to figure out what is happening and optimize your site, if there is still an issue, then it will be your server and you will need to migrate, but let’s first check it out.Hi there!!! ParticipantI totally agree as we have been using buddypress for some time and just made the theme switch a year ago. We are very happy with the theme also because it eliminates all the custom coding and causing issues when updating themes and plugins.
The following are admin credentials
Url: http://www.happyhedonist.com
Admin url: happyhedonist.com/wp-admin
Username : cheeky1
Pass : pa9669.SYou will notice even logging takes a lot of time. I also know that revolution slider is up to date and many demo and new items from before have not populated. Again all because of my inexperience.

ModeratorHello, well, let’s see, the loading of the site its 3 – 4s which is pretty good actually, but let’s see how much it can be optimized.

ParticipantHi Laura
I have installed and gone through the steps. I need to smash a lot more images yet but the speed has gotten better.
I do have W3 installed and was wondering do I still install zen cache. I have struggled to see if W3 is working properly, not sure if you can take a look at that.
I also get many fatal errors when loading and was wondering is that a hosting issue or something that can be done via cPanel or ftp?

ParticipantI will make an attempt I have never done any of this stuff before.
Iam also going to revert back to a back up as I think I updated my child theme by accident.
March 1, 2016 at 16:12 #107688pssawhney
ParticipantI am so sorry Laura, this is all getting very overwhelming π I am trying to upload the code you gave to the wp-config.php but the permissions is giving me an error. I try to change it and it still doesn’t all me to do so. I accessed this all through cpanel.
Is there anyway we can do a team view or something similar so I can see what your doing. I will try to record it so I don’t constantly bother you. Once I see how an update and stuff is done that will help extremely. Not sure if this is possible.
March 1, 2016 at 18:00 #107761Laura
ModeratorHello, it seems that your server is a bit limited, maybe you could migrate to another one like kgumiho.com
Did you upload the backup? I will need some permissions to be able to help you with site speed, your server doesn’t allow me to login through ftp and seems like it doesn’t allow you to edit wp-config.php, maybe you should contact them about that?Hi there!!! ParticipantHi Laura
Iam sure you guys are super busy bit wanted to know if you were able to gain access to cpanel. I refuse to give up on this theme and pretty sure it’s not the theme.
I figured out about how to write to the server as secure lockdown is enables and has to be disabled prior to changes.
I tried last night to upgrade the theme to 4.1 in hopes of fixing the issues but it did not update correctly.
Please let know if you able to assist still.

ModeratorHello, i still think its a server issue, why not migrate? If you need help with a server migration i can help you, just send me a mail to laura@seventhqueen.com
If you prefer to not migrate i could try to add another cache plugin but if w3t didnt work i dont think others will
Anyways i am here to help so let me know πHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionMarch 4, 2016 at 16:12 #108548pssawhney
ParticipantHi Laura
I really want to thank you for your support service, you guys know what it takes to give good service.
I have begun the process of changing host providers but now my only fear is that the host and developer were the same π not sure who I will be able to use to help with the site.
Is it possible when I get things online with the new provider that you can take a look and test things out and possible assist with the automatic theme updates, etc. I will first go over the guide you gave given and ensure things are running smoothly on that end.
March 5, 2016 at 17:35 #108765Laura
ModeratorHello, for host i suggest kgumiho.com
And do not worry i will be happy to assist you so your site is well set up πHi there!!! Help others from the community and mark any reply as solution if it solved your question. Mark as a solutionMarch 5, 2016 at 18:14 #108773pssawhney
ParticipantI remember you mentioning a host provider but I jumped the gun before checking your referral out.
I pay to much for these guys and need to offset what j just lost and then possible make a move in the future. I will let u know when the server is setup and will be testing it before it goes live and will forward you the credentials.
I will wait for you to give me the green of that okay first as Iam very afraid of this next step as I have no php experience or confidence it adding and removing stuff via ftp.

ParticipantHi
I just got this from my hosting company. I pray this makes sense to you lol:
Hello,I have finished the initial migration of your data. Now is the time to inspect your sites to make sure they are working correctly on the new server. The preferred method is to modify the hosts file on your home or office computer by entering the new ip for your domain(s).This tutorial will walk you through the edit of your local hosts file:http://kb.liquidweb.com/dns-hosts-file/I have created a page of the lines you will need to enter into the hosts file on your local computer. That page can be found here: https://paste.sysres.liquidweb.com/raw/unigacayukThe process of editing your hosts file is as simple as adding a few lines to a text file through a text editor. This change will tell your browser what IP address you want to load a domain from instead of looking it up from a DNS server. The Knowledge Base link above includes some helpful videos for different OSes. Our Support Team is also on hand 24/7 at 800-580-4985 and would be happy to walk you through the process.Once the hosts file is setup, you can go to the site as you normally would to see the site as is on the new server. Please test the functionality of the site and let us know if there are any issues, or if everything is working as expected. As the new server environment is slightly different from the old, some errors are expected during this phase. We are happy to help troubleshoot them on our end. Using this hosts file method for testing, it will be necessary to clear the cache in your browser before proceeding:http://www.liquidweb.com/kb/clearing-your-browser-cache/Depending on the makeup of your site, you may wish to test the following:* Home Pages and links* Site login* Site Post or comment* Image Upload* Create an order/Test Checkout* Etc.Please be advised, while you have the testing entries in your hosts file, email from those domains may not come through to you as normal. Once you remove the entries from your hosts file, you will be able to connect back to the live server and your email will download.I have also created a file on your domains to display if you are resolving to the correct server. The list of those files can be found here:https://paste.sysres.liquidweb.com/raw/bezitafereIf you have correctly edited your hosts file you should see a message declaring you are reaching the new server. Please note some sites may use redirects that may not allow our test urls to show correctly. You can still test the main site in this case.Once testing is complete we can schedule a time to do the final sync. Let us know what time works best for you so that we can reserve it on our calendar. If you have any questions please let us know. Thanks!
