Topics in activity stream

How can we have topics and replies to those topics appear in the activity stream? It seems the activity stream does not include them…
Maybe I am confused. FIrst time using buddypress.

Or even better, how can I create a page that shows the most recent topics across all forums? I want visitors to be able to go to just one page and see the most recent forum topic. Not to have to click on each forum individually to see what activity is occuring n that forum….
