Translation Help

hi ,

i have installed the sweet date theme, buddy press plugin and WPML and am translating the theme to Chinese.
even after translating the profile fields (extended) to Chinese, the theme still do not show the translation but in English only.

Please help ….

Hi, If you are just translating the theme in your language and you are not using two languages in the same time you don’t need WPML. You just need to translate the theme in your language using Codestyling Localization plugin for example. Fields are added from Users – Profile fields

If you want multiple languages in the same time, use WPML and switch to your added language to see the translated field or to register strings that need to appear in the backend for translation

hi Abe,

i am translating to multiple langauge at same time and thus using WPML.

the problem is that the profile field values and description are not showing up for backend translation even though i have scan the theme and plug in multiple times and “Auto-register strings always” is activated.

i read somewhere that it is an issue with buddy press. so asking if anyone manage to hack or resolve this

Hi, Field values won’t be translated. If they would have been then you should translate all profile field values user enter. This is a buddypress/wpml problem. I think you should check with WPML team
