    I’m having translation problems. Translated successfully with poedit. Replaced files via ftp. I am using the child theme so I tried putting the translations in there when I couldn’t get it to work in the main theme/lang folder. I also tried renaming them to sweetdate-en_US (yes, keeping English just rewording some of the strings). I’m not a newbie at translating, but I just can’t figure out why it isn’t working. Thanks!

    Hi,
    You should keep the en_US .mo and .po under sweetdate/languages and then just add your translated ones. The name of your files should be like fr_FR.mo not sweetdate-fr_FR.mo and you should add them to the main theme in the languages folder.
    You can also use this plugin http://wordpress.org/plugins/codestyling-localization/ for easier translations.

    Also make sure you have done every step from this page: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress_in_Your_Language

    Thank you. Everything is working now. Looks like when I switched themes, my default language disappeared 🙂

    Hello,
    i’m putting French as the main language on Sweet Date, so :
    – i installed Codestyling Localization plug-in
    – added ” <?php load_child_theme_textdomain( $domain, $path ) ?> ”
    At the very first line of the functions.php page (in my child theme folder)
    – i started to translate some words for testing
    – i have my .PO and .MO created in 2 directories
    wp-content/themes/sweetdate/languages/
    wp-content/themes/sweetdate-child/
    – i clicked on the button to “synchronise” translations between parent and child themes

    But WordPress tells me a warning message :
    <i>Warning: The actual loaded translation content contains mixed textdomains and is not pure translateable within one textdomain.
    It seems, that there is code contained extracted out of other plugins, themes or widgets and used by copy & paste inside some source files.
    The affected unknown textdomains are: woocommerce, social-articles, rtmedia, envato, buddypress, bp-album, bbpress</i>

    The result is it seems that i can’t find all the words or elements of the website.

    What is wrong ?

    Just one thing more, i moved the line
    load_child_theme_textdomain( $domain, $path );
    in functions.php
    AFTER
    add_action(‘after_setup_theme’,’kleo_remove_actions’);

    as seen on the Wp Codex website.

    BUT i have this warning message in WP admin panel :
    <i>Error: The actual loaded translation content does not match the textdomain: sweetdate
    Expect, that any text you translate will not occure as long as the textdomain is mismatching!
    This is a coding issue at the source files you try to translate, please contact the original Author and explain this mismatch. </i>

    Thanx for help.

    I installed the 3 .PO and .MO files found in another post (french_translation.zip)
    and put into the 3 folders of each “plug” : bbpress, buddypress and sweetdate
    now it seems 90% is translated, the things left are throught WordPress Admin Panel i guess…

    Hi,
    If you want to translate the theme starting from scratch using Codestyling plug in all you need to do is to translate thr strings and the generate .mo file from the plugin.
    Now that you have the french translation in place you can continue translating with Codestyling.
    The notice  that there is code extracted out of other plugins is fine since there are template file for compatible plugins.
