translation, where to put .mo file ?

Hello,

I need to have the site in french.
I have a sweetdate child theme.
I put the .mo file sweetdate-fr_FR.mo into wp-content/languages/themes/
It doesn’t work.

Why ?

Hi,

Put the lang file beside the .po file in wp-content/languages/ so there you will have to have

sweetdate-fr_FR.mo and sweetdate-fr_FR.po also if still not works try to rename the lang files mo and po in this format fr_FR.mo and fr_FR.po

Hi,

Please delete any theme translation files ( or backup and delete ) and the correct location for the lang files is : wp-content/languages/themes/

Instead sweetdate-fr put kleo_framework

kleo_framework-fr_FR.mo
kleo_framework-fr_FR.po

wp-content/languages/themes/kleo_framework-fr_FR.po
wp-content/languages/themes/kleo_framework-fr_FR.mo

Done the currently using lang files are : ac/wp-content/languages/themes/kleo_framework-fr_FR.po and ac/wp-content/languages/themes/kleo_framework-fr_FR.mo

I decommissioned the lang files from this path : from wp-content/themes/kleo/languages/ by renanimg the lang files

Please open a new thread regarding to that, is unrelated to the this topic… it’s about translations..

@powoky The correct path for language files are

/wp-content/languages/themes/kleo_framework-fr_FR.po and
/wp-content/languages/themes/kleo_framework-fr_FR.mo

And important, you have to desactivate the .mo file into sweetdate (in my case, delete or rename fr_FR.mo into sweetdate/languages)
