Unable to click ‘Add Friend’, ‘Public Message’ and ‘Private Message’ for buddypress members

For users without a cover photo it’s not possible to click on ‘add friend’, ‘public message’ and ‘private message’ buttons in the profile. They don’t do anything, almost as if a button isn’t there. When adding a cover photo the buttons now work.

 

I think this was a regression when I installed 3.9, I didn’t hear any reports of this before then.

That’s happens when there is no background image and you’re using the Buddypress version of the cover photo. That’s fixed in Kleo 4.0 which will be released shortly. In the meantime, enable “Replace BP 2.4 Functionality” in Settings > Buddypress > Settings to fix the issue.
