Unable to Update to Kleo 4.3 Without Site Breaking

Hello,

I am trying to update my site from Kleo 1.something to Kleo 4.3. It is quite the jump in versions, but I inherited the site from another developer who neglected to update the theme and plugins.

I have tried a variety of things to update the theme, but it keeps breaking the site. My server team finally found the error they believe is causing the issues:

Is this not compatible with the theme anymore? How should I update correctly to the newest version fo the theme?
