Hi
I’m new to Kleo and wordpress as of a few days – received the notification about the theme updates, logged into the admin backend and clicked to action the updates. It said updates were successful but then I couldn’t access anywhere else in the backend. I get this message when I try to do anything in the backend so i can’t do a thing:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function kleo_get_category_list_key_array() in /home/heelsand/public_html/wp-content/plugins/k-elements/compat/plugin-js-composer/config.php on line 2127
Guessing I did something very wrong or missed a vital step?
Can Abe or anyone advise please?
Huge thanks 🙂

September 23, 2014 at 18:48 #29413gm713ParticipantThanks for posting this Abe. I couldn’t access Admin section at all due to K-elements error. Should we hold off the upgrade or overwrite K-Elements via FTP?
September 23, 2014 at 18:50 #29415gm713ParticipantI reverted back to a previous build, so I’m back to 1.6.3
September 23, 2014 at 20:32 #29437AbeKeymasterIf you update directly to 2.0.1 you should be fine. Make sure to update the theme too

September 24, 2014 at 02:43 #29470heelsadminParticipantAbe – just so I know for future updates….do you think I made any mistakes with updating the theme (it did say they were successful before getting the fatal error message) or was there a K-elements error that caused this?
September 24, 2014 at 10:19 #29483AbeKeymasterIt was related to K-elements and it occurred because you haven’t updated the theme first but I quickly fixed that 🙂

Received no notification of theme updated. K-Elements update issue, has left me lifeless for 2 days. Broken system, failure. Cannot work. Cannot received assistance from KLEO. Admin will not resolve or respond after 10 a.m.
September 24, 2014 at 19:26 #29599AbeKeymaster@GayLocale I resolved your updating problem here: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/install/page/2
If you have anything that remained unresolved reply there. Updates on a new update are sent by Themeforest if you have enabled to receive notification for KLEO on your Downloads page

Got the fatal error again after clicking to update the K-elements plugin in the admin portal.
Found the new K-elements files (2.1.1) from the forum and uploaded them via ftp to the plugins directory under public_html. Deleted the original K-elements folder on my server. Now I have access to the admin portal again but but its saying there’s an error. I’ve tried activating the plugin but again it says:Fatal error: Call to undefined function kleo_get_category_list_key_array() in /home/heelsand/public_html/wp-content/plugins/k-elements-2/compat/plugin-js-composer/config.php on line 2144
Last time Abe said the error was because I hadn’t updated the theme and he kindly fixed that. Please can someone tell me how I can update the theme myself to a) hopefully resolve this issue and b)prevent it from happening in future.
P.S. I received the email from Evanto market saying there was a theme update available inn my downloads but couldn’t find any updates on their site.
Big thanks 🙂
November 5, 2014 at 02:18 #34109sharmstrModeratorDid you also update Visual Composer to 4.3.4? If not, its in the kleo download starting with 2.0

November 5, 2014 at 02:29 #34110heelsadminParticipantHi Sharmstr, thanks for helping 🙂 I haven’t updated visual composer since the previous update…..can’t tell which version I’m using as the error shows when I try to access the plugin page.
Found this post by Abe… I guess I need to update the theme as I didn’t do that before trying to update the K-elements plugin? I can’t do the automatic updates below due to the error so will have to delete the existing Kleo theme on the server and copy the new one in… do you think that’s right?
…………………………..
To update the theme you have several options.:Before updating the theme make sure to backup your files
1. Automatic updates:
– Go to WP admin – Theme options – Theme Update
– Enter Themeforest username and API KEY
– Save the options
– Go to WP admin – Dashboard (link should be like: /wp-admin/update-core.php) and you should see the theme there if there is a new update available
– Click the checkbox next to it and click to Update themes2. Manual update by FTP.
– Connect to your server.
– Go to wp-content/themes/ and copy “kleo” folder to your computer so you have a backup of your old files.
– Extract kleo.zip that you have downloaded from Themeforest. Make sure the resulting “kleo” folder has a style.css in it. Delete on your server all files inside wp-content/themes/kleo and then copy all files inside “kleo” folder to your server in wp-content/themes/kleoLast step is to go in WP Admin – Theme options and save the options since some dynamic elements might have been added and to make sure you get the latest styling.
…………………………November 5, 2014 at 02:52 #34117sharmstrModeratorIf I’m understanding this correctly, you can now get into the admin, just not the plugin page, right? If that’s the case, see if you can get into wp-admin/update-core.php If so, you should be able to update kleo from there.
But even with Kleo updated, I think you’ll still get the error on the plugins page because VC isn’t updated. So, try this.
Ftp to you server and go to /plugins/js_composer/changes.txt. At the top of that file, it will tell you which version of visual composer you are running. If its less than 4.3.4 then we need to update it. You can do it similar to the kleo update instructions above except you dont have to save the old version first.
– Extract js_composer.zip that you have downloaded from Themeforest. Delete on your server all files inside wp-content/plugins/js_composer and then copy all files inside “js_composer” folder to your server in wp-content/plugins/js_composer. ** Note, when you extract js_composer, you’ll actually end up with /js_composer/js_composer/*all of the files*. Notice the double js_composer folders. Make sure you dont end up with js_composer/js_composer/ on your server. Hope that makes sense.
What I believe will happen here is that once VC is updated, k-elements wont barf and you’ll be able to access your plugins page again… again, regardless of the kleo update.
I’ve been at this for 15 hours straight so if anything doesn’t make sense, please ask. I’m a bit brain dead and might not have explained it well. GOOD LUCK! 🙂

November 5, 2014 at 03:03 #34120heelsadminParticipantGood morning (it is where i am 🙂 )Thanks again..especially as you’ve been working so long.
I went to the /plugins/js_composer/changes.txt and the version is 4.3.4. so doesn’t appear to need updating then? Still haven’t updated the theme so maybe I should do that and then see if I can access the plugins?
November 5, 2014 at 03:08 #34121AbeKeymasterthank you @sharmstr wow you are a star
I think the best thing to do is to update the theme to 2.1.1 version by re-downloading it from Themeforest and you won’t encounter that problem.

Do you know if there is any way I can retrieve this…or am I going to have to start again?! Have gone into my server file manager and the child theme is not there….What an idiot I am… arghhh!
November 5, 2014 at 04:11 #34126sharmstrModeratorRestore from backup? The good news that all the Theme options settings are saved to the db. The only thing you’ll lose if you cant recover from a backup is any customization you made to the files or in style.css. Hopefully you’re not like me with 70 customized files, and over 1000 lines of code in my functions file.
My eyes are nearly bleeding now, so I’m going to sign off. Please report back on your progress. Again… good luck.

Thanks both….awesome support 🙂 -
