I am out of time and need a quick answer – PLEASE. I need an additional profile field displayed for specific users to use to register for a private group.
The specifics are: This is a website for international college students. They must register and become members to have access to most of the menu items. There are 3 membership levels via the PaidMembershipPro plugin. I created a registration/profile page (form) in wp-admin/users/profile-fields titled Members (Primary) and it displays when a logged out user clicks the Register link in the menu. ALL GOOD.
I need a private area on the site for a group called Mentors. They must be members first, then apply and be approved as mentors if they think they are qualified in a specific subject area. They also must complete a separate profile page designated for Mentors only.
The only way that I have found to accomplish this within the KLEO/BuddyPress theme is to restrict general members ability to create groups, then create a private group for the Mentors, BUT… there are no options within the groups panels to incorporate a unique group member profile.
SO… I created an additional Profile Field in wp-admin/Users/Profile Fields named Mentors, BUT… I can’t find it displayed anywhere!!
It must be somewhere, but where? Also, is this the best, or only way to do this? Please help ASAP!!!
Thank you!
June 30, 2015 at 13:48 #65725LauraModeratorHello, your request its a bit difficult to perform with buddypress code right now, you can use buddypress moderation for profile approve system, but specific fields for users is related to member types, something new in buddypress that still doesnt have a very functional field restriction, so the best you could do is hire a freelancer to try to find a way of doing this
