Please am in a kind of fix right now and will appreciate any suggestion or help I could get here.
I am trying to introduce social media functionalities to my existing blog hence my purchasing kleo which supports buddypress.
Before now, I have been using Userpro plugin to prevent user access to wordpress backend and for really nice registration and Login forms/widgets. The problem now is that Userpro profile is preventing buddypress profile(which looks better) from showing. I have contacted the plugin author on this but they are being somewhat reluctant to offer a solution. The closest I could get to a solution on this was from the comments section of the plugin’s codecanyon profile where the author said “If you want the user profiles to point to the BuddyPress profile then you need to manually hook in permalink() api function to make it go to bp profile instead of userpro profle $userpro->permalink( … ) There’s a place in member search results that links to user profiles using this API function You can find it in functions/api.php function permalink(“. I don’t really understand how to go about this.
Presently, ‘am thinking of ditching the plugin and getting an alternative which brings me to considering s2member and pmpro. I am not looking at charging my site users, I only need to create user roles (e.g. students, prospective students, graduates) which should be available as an option on sign up form and to prevent the users from accessing any wordpress backend.
Honestly, I really like userpro’s numerous features and settings but I have to go with buddypress profile. I am looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this. October 3, 2015 at 23:59 #80691lopregParticipantThat will be great @laura. I have been scanning the net all day for a solution to this. I will really love to be able to redirect userpro profile to buddypress profile as s2member is not giving me exactly all I need
October 4, 2015 at 10:47 #80736lopregParticipantIt appears a lot of people are asking same question as I am. Please see http://codecanyon.net/item/userpro-user-profiles-with-social-login/5958681/comments?utf8=%E2%9C%93&term=manually+hook+in+permalink%28%29&from_buyers_and_authors_only=0&order_by=relevance
My problem is, I can’t seem to find how to implement the solution suggested there. Any help on this will be greatly appreciated cos I don’t seem to have any other option but to get userpro work with buddypress due to the nature of my project.
Please see the content of the api.php file below;(edit – I’ve attached the file instead since this post shows up in search results and we have to scroll far down to get past it.)

October 10, 2015 at 02:45 #81675AndreiModeratorHi,
The thing is that this two plugins userpro or buddypress do the same thing, that’s why you should choose one of them and stick with it, not using them both in the same time.
Please let me know if I can help with anything else.
