Users are not able anymore to register/sign up

Hello,

I was running some tests and I remarked that users are not able to register anymore to the site. From what i can see the values selected in 2 of the mandatory fields are not recognized as I see in red a message saying that the field is mandatory.  Even if I select a value or more (they are checkbox fields), these values are removed when the user submits his registration. You can of course try by yourself.

This worked before, not sure if this is caused by the last update.

I have tried this and indeed I can save now the registration form but:
1. The values I choose in the optional fields are not saved.
2. I need at least one of this field to be mandatory.

So, I think the problem is not solved as if a user is selecting some values even if they are not mandatory they need to be saved. More, please note that this was working before. Unfortunately, I cannot tell you exactly when this changed, but I suspect it was after the upgrade on the theme to be compatible with the new BuddyPress plugin.

Still having this issue ? if yes just make a movie or enumerate the steps by numbers with screenshots to see exactly how the issue can be reproduced.

Hi Radu,

The problem was still there, you have succeeded to register just because the checkbox fields were not anymore mandatory – I changed this to test what Laura suggested initially. In this case, if selected something in those fields no value was actually saved.

Anyway, few minutes ago I got a notification that there is a new BuddyPress update version and looking into the list of bugs they have solved I found the following:

#7845 closed defect (bug) (fixed)
User registration fails if multi-option multi-select or checkbox involved

It was exactly the issue I had. I have upgraded BuddyPress and registration is working fine again.
