Using Wishlist Membership with Kleo theme

I have just installed the Kleo theme for my membership site, but am using Wishlist software. Kleo seems to want you to use Paid Membership. Can I use Wishlist and just deactivate the Paid Membership plugin?

You are not required to use Paid Membership Pro.
