Visual Composer doesn't work after upgrade

Hi, after installing the new KLEO theme to 2.4 update AND updating the Visual Composer from the downloaded theme archive to 4.4.2, the composer doesn’t work anymore (stops at loading screen). I downgraded the plugin back to 4.3.5 and it worked again.

I am using the KLEO child theme (without any changes to the theme) under the assumption that upgrading the main theme will upgrade the child as well, right?

Hi, it’s the backend editor that is not working. This happens only for text elements.

Generally, if I update the theme, the child theme should be “upgraded” too (not physically, but it contains only the changes made by me and generally uses the code of the mother theme so if the mother theme is upgraded, the changes are used by the child too).

That’s not exactly true. If you copy over a Kleo function to your child theme and that function happens to be updated, you’ll be running old Kleo code. You need to verify that any functions in your child theme were not updated in the parent theme manually.

As far as your issues with VC are concerned, there are VC addons that dont work with the latest version of VC. Disable all your plugins except those that come with Kleo and see if the problem persists.

And I should add, its not just functions. Full pages as well.

Hi, it is an absolutely fresh install of KLEO (bought it a week ago) without any changes to the child theme and without any add-ons to VC.

What do you mean be “full pages as well”? Do I have to re-create all pages that were created with VC 4.3.5?

No no no. I was talking about any pages you copied to your child theme 🙂
