WordPress 4.4. update and WP bakery

Hi there-

I have been working with this theme for the past month and a half and I really love it. One of my installations started really slowing down two weeks ago, when WP 4.4 Clifford was installed (www.derekfordstudios.com). This site is hosted on Dreamhost. I also have this theme installed (I own three separate licenses) on two other hosts without problems.

I am going through troubleshooting and I noticed the install that is slowing down the site (loading times are 10-15 seconds!) is also saying there is an updated with one of the provided plug ins, WP Bakery Visual composer, and this plugin will not be updated through the plug in area; screenshots attached.

I am wondering if completing this plug in update will help with the speed issues I am having on this one install, and how I can correct this speed issue I am having. I have already removed and re-added all plug ins that didn’t come with the theme, reinstalled WP’s core files, and had my host move the site files to a different server without luck..

Any ideas?

Please see attached, I noticed as of this morning it’s not suggesting the update anymore.
Have you had anyone else encounter major slowdowns with the theme or wp bakery visual composer since the update to WP 4.4?

We will be updating Kleo tomorrow and VC 4.9 will be included that fixes some speed issues. Their changelog: https://wpbakery.atlassian.net/wiki/display/VC/Release+Notes

I haven’t seen this update on Themeforest yet, nor is it updating via the API key. Do you know when this new version (theme + visual composer plug in) will be available?

We haven’t updated to 4.9 since they had a problem in Safari with Columns elements, we reported it to them and now it was fixed in 4.9.1 where we need a few days to make all the elements compatible. With the new year eve we will probably releasing it in the first week of January.
