Every time I customize the Profile Fields and import them to the Buddypress section of the Sweet Date Dashboard, all my changes in the Profile Fields are lost. The Buddypress section loses all the fields I customized, and the Sweet Date Theme reverts back to the default Profile fields. I have tried it over and over, deleted the cache, hit the save button, and even stood on my head. IT DOES NOT WORK!!!
Is there a known issue with this???
August 13, 2015 at 10:52 #72822LauraModeratorHello, how many times did you click on “Import buddypess fields” ? This deletes your fields and imports demo fields again, there is no need to click that button

I clicked import one time and it imports it. But anything I do after that, repopulates the old settings.

August 15, 2015 at 04:45 #73074jwchameleoncorpParticipantHi Laura,
I deactivated each plugin that did not come with WordPress (i.e. Jet Pack, Akismet, etc.) and each plugin that did not come with Sweetdate or Buddypress/bbPress.
None of the tests were successful and I still have the same issue.
August 16, 2015 at 12:28 #73244AndreiModeratorThe Import Profile Fields button will ONLY reset your profile fields to the default demo ones, there is no option to import/export fields if this is what you were looking for.
Cheers

Your explanation is not clear. To clarify, are you telling me that the Import Fields Button should ONLY be used to reset the profile fields to the default demo ones?
If so, are you telling me that after I customize the Profile Fields that I should NOT use the Import Profile Fields button? If that’s true, by NOT using the Import Profile Fields button after I customize the Profile Fields, then my customized settings will remain intact?
Thanks.
August 17, 2015 at 22:23 #73477AndreiModeratorTo make it simpler, you should firstly delete all demo fields from “Users > Profile Fields” and after that add your profile fields groups and fields and save them. This is all that you need to do.
Can you please provide me a screenshot with the import fields button so I can be sure I explain you the right section ?

Thanks!
August 17, 2015 at 22:50 #73488AndreiModeratorMy personal point of view it would be to keep with Kleo which is a little bit more flexible because of the Visual Composer.

For example, I started a ticket for the Kleo issues on August 16th titled “Styling Problems with Kleo”
No intent to offend, but it seemed like nothing with Kleo or Sweet Date was working as described. After spending several days trying to get it to work, got a little frustrated.
August 17, 2015 at 23:02 #73490AndreiModeratorI’m sure your issues was just because of small misunderstanding about how some settings work.
Let’s close your actual tickets, keep with the Kleo theme, and open a ticket listing all your issues. Don’t forget to tag me in that new topic ( type @Andrei somewhere in the message so I can get a notice ).Tomorrow I’ll be back looking over your issues.
Looking forward.

There are profile fields like “country” which are used in the basic field but which I also want to use in a new group called “My collection”. How can I copy those fields into the new group ? I tried to right-click but that doesn’t work.
Furthermore I was triggered by your comment “there is no option to import/export fields if this is what you were looking for.” This means that for instance for years I will have to create a list from say 1900 till date all manually and with no option to re-use that list somewhere else ?
Thanks.September 30, 2015 at 01:53 #79971AndreiModeratorHi,
Unfortunately you can’t have the same field in two field groups at the same time, you can move it from a group to another by dragging and dropping the field into the tab title of the other field group.
Yes, unfortunately there isn’t an easier way to accomplish this.
Cheers
