Yes, I resolved it. Had to do with my page had the slug name of “blog”, and so did my category “blog”. Since I use a plugin to chop off “/category”, <mysite>/blog would always show the category “blog”, and not the page “blog”.
I described what I did above, just in case someone searches for something similar.

Sorry for all the “spam”. Cannot change the content of my previous “solution” comment. Forgot to add that I am actually also using a Redirection plugin to redirect the link of <mywebsite>.com/blog to <mywebsite>.com/blog-home…
For anyone that is searching for a similar topic, here is the solution I chose for my website:
(Please note that this most likely would not be an issue if you do not use a plugin to hide “/category” from your URL for your categories. It caused an issue for me, since my URL <mywebsite>/blog, actually did not show my PAGE “blog”, but my CATEGORY with the slug of “blog”)
1. Settings / Reading settings:
1. Front page: Set to my custom created “Home” page
2. Posts page: Set to “- Select – “, or basically nothing…
2. I left my “Blog” category with the slug of “blog”, so that any of my blog posts (as sub categories) will have the word “/blog” at the beginning of the URL/URI.
3. Created a custom page named “Blog”, but the slug is “blog-home”. This is just a placeholder page, and is insignificant for the posts’ URLs, since they will have the URL containing the “blog” category in them. In the “Top Bar” of my website, you will see “Blog”, but it is actually showing the page “blog-home”. Please note that I removed the page named “Blog”, with the slug of “blog”, since it was never called anyway…having a category with slug of “blog”.Now, all my categories on my main menu will have “/blog” in the beginning of the URL/URI, and any post or category shown in the breadcrumb will also have “/blog” in the beginning of the URL/URI.

This was the first thing I tried, and my changes to the “blog” (name and slug) page have no affect. The “blog” page (according to the WordPress hierarchy) overrides everything else…as long as the page is named “blog”.
Currently, this is what I have:
– Settings / Reading Settings: “Your latest posts”.
– I have a page called “Blog” (slug is “blog”). I have, just a s a test, entered the word “Test” in the content field.
– I have a category with the slug of “blog”If I go to the front page, I can now see the standard blog setup, with the “Featured” scroll box at the top (since I tagged some of my posts “Featured”).
When I go to my blog page (http://backtonatureliving.com/blog) I can see the standard blog page setup. But, I do not see my word “Test” anywhere. I do not either see the the Featured Scroll box at the top.
Now, if I use a different slug for the blog page, it works totally fine: http://backtonatureliving.com/blog-home. I can then see the content shown like on your guys’ “news-magazine” page.
Also, the “Theme options” (like i.e. “Hide the Topbar”, etc) at the end of the page does not work either.
So, my conclusion is that if I stay away from the slug “blog”, it works fine…but I want to use the slug “blog” for my blog page :-).

I left the above for searchability for others, but I have figured out what the issue was… I had a category with he slug “blog”. If I set this category’s slug to something else…it works like it is supposed to…but I loose some other functionality in my category hierarchy.
On http://seventhqueen.com, it looks like you guys have the same situation as I have on my blog: A category with slug of “blog”, and a blog page with the slug “blog”. Possibly, if you guys had put anything at all in the content field for your “blog” page…it would now show up online…
Used your guys’ tip on how to hide the “Archive for category:” for my “blog” category BTW… 🙂
As it turns out, this seem to be a more logical issue on my side, and I will have to make a decision of how I want things to work… If I still want to keep my category “blog”…I will loose the ability to customize my “blog” page.
