On http://tools.pingdom.com/ testing my website the loading of the file admin-ajax.php takes a lot of time.
If “Enable Likes by Ajax” option is ON in the theme options multiple instances of the file is loaded taking the total load of page over 10 seconds.
What’s the cause?

my site is on VPS but admin-ajax using 90000 hit per hour is killing me really !!
did you find any solution for it ?

what i seen in internet many users have same issue and suffering from this php file
the pro’s suggesting to disable hearbeat API in function.php but im not sure will effect the theme performance or loading activity and so …

I tried to deactivate it but theme doesn’t work perfectly this way.
So i have to re-activate it waiting for some response by the authors.

Hi @harlock_

That is a memory issue. You need to increment the memory limit in wp-config.php

I experienced the same problem, and fixed it by increasing the memory limit. I have a dedicated server so I am able to manage that. If you are hosting in a shared server, you may need to contact your service provider to increase the memory limit.

yes i did that ( Memory limit ) and help little not much . i kept it on 64 , did you put it higher ?

My developer put 1GB for the memory limit. I know it’s high but we got the resources. Not so sure why he went so high. Since then, my site runs flawlessly.

im on VPS and i have limit till 1GB but im not risking it 🙂

OOPS .. i increase it to 256M and my CPU usage jump to 10.2 !!!! woww

my hosting said i can increase till 1GB , for now i kept it on 512M memory limit and CPU usage dropped 80% and site is loading much faster
