    Hi, I am trying to create groups outside BuddyPress. Every time I upload a new avatar, I get this error message: “You have selected an image that is smaller than recommended. For best results, upload a picture larger than 580 x 580 pixels.” This error message will be confusing to my users.

     

    I have tried uploading much large pictures. Yet the error message keeps appearing. And I notice the crop preview picture is a lot lower in quality than the original picture I upload. The photo in the attached example is 2531X1894…

     

    I am setting up a new installation and don’t want this to be a problem with my members. This problem will make the theme totally unusable if members cannot upload avatars correctly! I bought this them less than a week ago. I love this theme, please help me make it work correctly!

    Hi,

    You can change the avatar default sizes by editing the following file: “wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php”

    Open that file and look for BP_AVATAR_FULL_WIDTH and BP_AVATAR_FULL_HEIGHT and put your desired values.

    Hi Radu, I have been busy with other work this last week. I changed the values of the avatars in the php file but am still getting “You have selected an image that is smaller than recommended. For best results, upload a picture larger than 580 x 580 pixels.” This error message will be confusing to my users if they upload a bigger photo! The php file I edited is buddypress/bp-core/bp-core-avatars.php. via the wordpress dashboard. I discovered today I have a wordpress multisite, and what that means… I cannot find my new Sweet Date plug-ins and theme in my worpress sites (2 now) via FTP anywhere!

    I have created one group and if you look at the group the avatar I have uploaded is superimposed on the header photo??? How do I fix that? Thanks again for your help!

    Hi,

    The avatar modifications should be made in wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php not in plugin, because on next update the changes will gone.

    Radu, I cannot FIND my plugins via FTP on my site, as I said before, the plugins are not in the Sweet Date wp-content/plugins file, I have a multisite wordpress now, as the new Sweet Date site in the second one… where are my new Sweet Date plugins and new Sweet Date theme files, I cannot find them in either site?

    Look on this page, superimposed means on top of the header, that does not look right, how do I fix it… thanks again for your help!

    I cannot find the path to your wordpress install, ask the person that installed the wordpress where are the plugins and theme path.

    After you will find out the paths please open this file : “wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php”

    To increase the avatar size make sure that you have next lines added to the file.

    Related to the cover there is nothing wrong with the size, your uploaded image has a very bad quality please upload a image that has a good quality

    Radu, I installed the Sweet Date theme and plug-ins via the dashboard following your youtube video instructions, by uploading the normal way in wordpress, but now I can’t find where they went??? Anybody else there can help us find where my Sweet Date theme and plug-ins are?

    I now have a wordpress multi-site, that could be why we are not finding the Sweet Date my theme and plug-ins, has anybody there had this problem before, I am sure someone there at 7thQueen has seen this before.

    I know, I am using low res photos for the group test creation, attached is what I have got on this page, is this right? The profile pic should not be in top of the header right? Is that the way BuddyPress displays group profiles and headers normally?

    Hi,

    You can find your plugins path by accessing wp-admin -> woocommerce -> system status ->Log Directory Writable and then paste the path here.

    Regarding the groups this is the only way how a group can look

Please further explain, “You can find your plugins path by accessing wp-admin -> woocommerce -> system status ->Log Directory Writable and then paste the path here. ” I have no woocommerce file in- /bajaretireddate.com/wordpress/wp-admin

    Thanks Radu, I solved the problem… I had to migrate my websites to a higher PHP 5.4 value host site as woocommerce suggested that for some of its new templates… so I had 2 host sites and was logging into the old Hsphere site via FTP which did not have the new plugins installed! So I created a log in protocol for the new Parallels host site and BOOM there are the theme and plug ins! Thanks for hanging in there with me thru this “problem”…

    Thanks for the quick reply! That is simple enough… problem is I cannot see the register option after I log out because my computer stores my password and the knowledge that I am registered on the site… maybe I should try another browser or clear the cache right? What I would like to see is this page pop up and I can proceed to login from this page with the new e-mail address – is this form in the theme somewhere?     OK, I found that registration form clicking register here in the attached jpg. – I have given myself an annual ALL ACCESS membership yet I am being excluded from certain areas such as the blog, check out the membership levels I have created and why am I being not able to to access all levels as a annual member, YOU WILL SEE THAT MESSAGE OF EXCLUSION IN THE ATTACHED JPG AT THE BOTTOM NEAR THE REGISTER BUTTON – http://bajaretireddate.com/wordpress/ – check out the new membership levels.

    I just installed MaxCDN, the site is a bit faster now, but I am still getting this message as an annual member with all access permissions, not good, this will be a problem for my other annual members right?     Radu – Thanks again for your response! You have built one of these sites, could you go thru my site now that it is almost done and max it out? No changes in the style and look, just the functionality. I have been fooling around with this 7th Queen video, love this girl’s voice –

    and after trying to implement her changes I have no tabs here in the profile of me I created, see jpg attached… I will do a back up the site now and you can go thru and “get me done”… if you notice I have kept options and choices as well as navigation very simple for the user. If the group I created is OK, don’t change it, I can ad more groups. No worries, I will add a Muslim group too, if your indeed Muslim, just chose Christians because it was the first to come into my mind…;o) I have a list of groups I will create after your tweaks. Can you do that for me? You know all the ins and outs thru your past history of working with your purchasers. RIP Prince! OK, I will back up the site now before you do your work, thanks!

    If you want to see that fields there you will have it to complete it from your profile – > edit, complete fields with required informations

    then go to wp-admin -> theme options -> BP Profile Tabs and make sure that you have settings like in screenshot

    Radu, I have too many profile matching fields! And they are duplicated, if I check one, it checks all the duplicates… so I cannot get a total of 100% with all the duplicate fields checked!!! See the list attached… how do I set the fields I need?

    Hi,

    Our response time to the tickets can take up to 48 hours, and it was weekend that’s the reason.

    Please look over the videos and over the documentation and play with the settings and test things.If you encounter theme problems and specific questions you can ask me.

    The reason for fields that are duplicated can be some plugin especially a cache plugin, if you have a object cache activate, disable it, also disable all plugins except buddypress and check again, in our theme this is not happens, so there is a problem with your configuration.

    We have available a team member for 35$ per hour, but first i need a complete summary with all your needs and then my friend @Laura will tell you if she can do that and how many hours it will require.

    Best way to communicate is a ticketing system like this not IM because is more productive and non divert.

    Radu, Thanks so much for the quick reply, I am nearing the day that my website will go live… I am excited and getting my website done this past weekend was a main priority for me… I have watched that video a dozen times, and still cannot figure why I have so many buddy matching fields… please let me know if @Laura can do these 5 items in 1 hour… I will be glad to pay $35 for her services.
    1. Fix the “too many fields in the matching profile match set-up” and please repair. If I need to eliminate or temporarily disable that plug-in to make future changes let me know.
    2. I need terms and conditions and privacy policy enabled and customization by me for context changes. You are asked to check a box “I agree to terms and conditions” when registering and I can’t find them anywhere! Terms and conditions should be on the register pages and privacy policy on the contact page right?
    3. I need the reCaptcha on the little pop up register page resulted from the top little signup button, I have it installed on the main register page but I need it in both places.
    4. Also the message to non-registered visitor is not very pretty on the blog page – “Apologies, but no results were found. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.” with the search field. I would like to be able the change that to “This content is available to higher membership levels only” without the search field.
    5. Please take a look at the site and suggest ways to improve it and make it more simplified yet functional. I am trying to make the site simple to navigate and user friendly.

    For the duplicated matching that ca be caused by some plugin incompatibility.

    I’ve talked with Laura and the he cannot do this job for various reasons.

    If you are looking for someone who can do that for you search on google, wordpress jobs and post on the first 3-4 sites the job.

    My opinion : 1 hour is not enough i think from 2 hours + is correct estimation

    This is the 6 months of support you promised, telling me to go find someone else outside 7th Queen?
