hello how does the city autocomplete work and how did you guys get your logo to have such a high resolution

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out about the SweetDate BuddyPress options. City autocomplete uses the geonames.org API to dynamically populate your chosen field with up to eleven million unique and geographically correct places, you will need to add your username to the field titled ‘Geonames Username’ for this to work properly, you can create an account here http://www.geonames.org/login.

The space allotted for the logo is 294 x 108 px, currently your logo is 175 x 46 px – to ensure everything looks as crisp as it does locally when you’re making your logo you should output the logo in 294 x 108 px, even if you’re left with empty transparent space. Don’t forget to also create a copy of your logo at 588 x 216 px for use in the retina logo field.

lets say for example a users select the country usa would the city filed automatic generate all the cites located in the usa with the city autocomplete?

Hi,

That is correct, if the country selected is the USA or the ISO code is USA then the city field will populate with only US cities.

i have register for http://www.geonames.org/login. got my users name and save the user name in the geonames usersname but when a and test it out it did’nt filled the city field automatic on my site after i selected untied states country?

Can you let me know if you received an account confirmation email from GeoNames and activated your account by clicking the link within their email?

i hve received an account confirmation email from GeoNames and activated my account

It doesn’t appear to be working for me either. Did you follow the support article regarding setup and activate the web services after the account verification? If not please read this post (step 2) and update accordingly https://archived.seventhqueen.com/sweetdate/article/geonames-integration-city-autocomplete.

I am not sure how you mean? Do you mean on GeoNames, if so that doesn’t appear to be valid login details. If you mean on your site there is no user with that email so I am unable to login.

what i means is for you to use that email and password to create a GeoNames and then take the user name that you created and paste on the website using my login credentials for wordpress
