Cleo Post Carousel

Hello,  On the last update to 4.0.8 the Kleo post carousel is not displaying the images correctly.  It seems as if the image does not fill up the space completely anymore.  did something change that i missed or is there a new setting?

YES. something thing definitely when wrong with the Kleo Post Carousel module on the upgrade to 4.0.8. I tried everything to get it to work the way it was working on the previous version without success. I also shut off every plug in one by one (to rule that out), cleared caches on every test, tried using the module on a fresh page from scratch, an every time, and it produced the errors. I reverted back to my 4.0.6 and everything is fine again.

You guys might want to look into that. Don’t bother with the link above because the sites been reverted and you won’t be able to see the error but that module in particular was behaving strangely to stay the least. The featured picture for the post does not adjust to fit into the allocated space making the posts uneven. some bigger some smaller.

Hi,

Please explain this “not displaying the images correctly” if you will try again the latest version maybe you will have to specify the image dimensions again maybe you was using a preset like : small,medium,large or full.

Note the old resolution of the photos from the module and specify it on the new theme version…

Provide details what resolutions haves images before the update and after, most probably is related to the image size setting

The carousel itself seemed to be working fine on the update in terms of displaying the information from the portfolio and moving the posts from left to right at the chosen speed (like it supposed too). The problem is that after the update to 4.0.8 (which is the latest on envato), when using the Kleo Post Carousel – the featured image that is being pulled from portfolio’s post would not inherit (or stretch for lack of better word) to fill the hover elements window.

Ive made sure that the hover element is the correct size (with Google & safari inspect).. the image that the hover element is pulling does not fill up the size from left to right.

a good working example of is at the top of the page ( http://www.trueinkdesigns.com/featured/old-forester-repeal-day/ ) body: using a basic Image carousel here (not to be confused with the Kleo Post Carousel). The images inside the hover elements adjust to the chosen size of the hover element – no matter what size the picture really is or if the image is vertical or horizontal. This was the behavior that KPC had before the update.

also… is there a database where you keep older versions of Kleo? I usually backup and keep every version for situations like this, but for some reason i must have missed a backup to 4.0.7 – causing me when to revert back to 4.0.6. Not that i expect for you guys to keep all the versions on a member only page downloading section, but it might make for a good addition.

I’ve added this issue on the bugs list and we will investigate and also we will fix, i will upload the 4.0.7 version here, we will take in consideration your advice regarding to member downloads page.

Excellent thank you for the 4.0.7 version. i will add it to my file. As of right now.. the KPC is working fine with 4.0.6. I think i will leave it until we find out more.

Hi,

According the change log :

– NEW FEATURE: Customize blog image sizes for each type of blog display. See the new options in Theme options -> Blog -> Image settings

Please go to wp-admin -> theme options -> general settings -> Image settings [ This is a new feature in 4.0.8 version ]. Here you will need to set image sizes for Standard Image Width and Standard Image Height or leave them like the default ones.
IMPORTANT : You will have to regenerate thumbnails with this plugin : https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails
