Hi i am using the carousel for posts. When i use it full width there is a margin in the gradient. Can i eliminate that? (Image attached.)
When using it in smaller sizes the text cuts of at the end of the frame. What is my options for the text not to be cut off? (image attached)
Thanks

June 28, 2016 at 15:13 #127181trueinkParticipantThis is exactly what is happening with my Kleo Post Carousel after update. :/ i reverted back to 4.0.6 until they find a solution for this.

Of course. You can view the one thats working properly here: http://www.trueinkdesigns.com/featured/old-forester-repeal-day/
if you scroll to the bottom of the page where it says Featured Projects (not to be confused with the top “image carousel” that’s on the page). That is where the Kelo Post Carousel is working properly (version 4.0.6). This particular KPC is pulling from the Portfolio section (not sure if that narrows anything down for you guys).
I would like to point out that before i found this post, I posted my concerns with the way that the Kleo Post Carousel was behaving with the new update (4.0.8) here: https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/cleo-post-carousel#post-127357
There was a solution posted by Radu to the problem on my original post – but i have not had time to try the suggested solution. I have my doubts that the solution will work and id just be bumping my head against the wall again and wasting time that i don’t have at the moment.
I could be mistaken, and if i am i apologize, but i checked your demo site to see how the KPC was behaving and it seemed fine – However, upon further research, i believe you guys are running the demo on 4.0.3 (at least the particular demo i checked at that time) – i have a feeling that if the demo is updated you might start to see those particular errors as well.
I think the thing that does not make sense to me is why did the behavior of the hover element’s content change on the Kleo Post Carousel but not the standard Image Carousel. Im not pretending to be a developer and i want you to know that i respect the work you guys do on your end and all its complexity but i can’t seem to find logic in the solution that Radu posted for me. unless you guys have bigger future plans for the KPC (which is a total possibility). It was behaving perfectly before.
Either way. hope the link helps. I took an initial step and installed the new 4.0.8 version on a test site so you can see exactly what I’m talking about via the screen shot attached. Note that this problem effects every scrolling portfolio post in the carousel and not just the one in the example.
Hope this helps and thanks for reaching out

We also added the option to change the image size for the blog part(see Theme options – Blog – Image settings)
After the change in some cases there could be some visual changes. What you need to do is just to regenerate image thumbs. https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails
You can try the beta 4.1 on the demo site, run the regenerate thumbs and let me know how it goes. The files for the beta are attached: https://we.tl/oD7CuuGkoI

After wasting about 3.5 hours of the day testing and testing. I have to report that there is no success over the look of what it used to be on the older version of Kleo. No matter what i tried and Ive exhausted every possible route i can think of to test the KPC on 4.0.8 as well as the new beta sent over for 4.1.
I would like to point out to you that – Looking at my featured page… http://www.trueinkdesigns.com/featured/
The images behave correctly here on the featured page grid, and correct me if I’m wrong but this also pulls from the featured image of the portfolio post. Updating to either 4.0.8 or 4.1 beta leaves the images on the featured page in tact. It does not effect the hover element at all. This is what we (as Kleo users) are used too with the KPC as well, and not what is happening. Im sorry to say that if in fact this update works, and there is a possibility that I am using it wrong – its not very user friendly at all which is what we are used to with Kleo. I also feel very sorry for sone who is using the KPC and is featuring a ton a projects on it because the errors are not easily fixed. You guys might want to rethink that one. Also, when testing on your end, might i suggest you guys use images that are slightly different in size for your featured images so you can see what happens to the carousel when the featured images are not consistent – and I’m talking about 10px – 20px difference (which is minimal).

July 4, 2016 at 15:12 #127933AbeKeymasterHi there, you are right, the update did mess with the sizes so that is why the custom image sizes are not off by default and you can enable them from Theme options – Blog. By default they are disabled and it will act just like older versions.

Thanks for reaching out again. Its okay, I found a fix to the problem by altering the php. The theme is working exactly how I prefer.
I think something to take note of here, and I’m certainly not telling you guys how to develop your own theme, is that as a user – when we see the words NEW FEATURE, we kind of expect some kind of on/off switch making said feature an option not mandatory. Personally I’m going to stay with my fix because it fixed two separate issues i was having at the same time and will explore Kleo’s updates on test sites only moving forward so i don’t run into the same type of frustrations.
thanks for all your attention to the matter.
have a great holiday
JoseJuly 4, 2016 at 15:37 #127936AbeKeymasterI have added exactly a switch to theme options – blog so the custom image sizes option is disabled by default 🙂
Please let me know your changes but I think you should go with the beta attached so you can easily update in the feature.See the attach. http://7thqueen.com/public-files/gabi/2016-07-04-2sepl.jpg

@ SeventhQueen we do our best to have super happy customers. Thanks for being our customer.July 4, 2016 at 16:22 #127939trueinkParticipantThat sounds AWESOME! I love the idea of a switch! Mainly because i prefer to keep everything current and if new features do come up (which are ALWYAS welcomed by the way).. I can test them later with more time. This past update/situation I felt forced into a corner and my OCD kicked in when i didn’t see my even/clean elements. I know it sounds a little silly but less then perfect keeps me up at night. I apologize if my stress shined through in my messages, I truly do appreciate the amount of work you guys put forth on this project keeping it current and beautiful.
Im excited to test the new beta, but to be honest I’m completely swamped. I will do so as soon as i get a free minute to check out the switch.
For the fix.. I analyzed the post-content-carousel.php of both the new version and the last 2 working versions I had on hand (4.0.7 & 4.0.6). The difference between the files were minimal and toward the bottom of the code. Although the new code was in the older files as well, it was grayed out. Im assuming that it was grayed out because it’s code that you guys where, at the time, developing and was not yet ready for the users during those older versions.
I used the old .php code in the new version (4.0.8) and Voilà. If by chance it was going to disable the new feature in the blog options panel, I didnt really care, because it was causing me problems anyway. This minor changed fixed two problems actually. The big KPC issue we were having and also something that I didnt care to mention before because i didn’t think it was a big deal (sort of). The second issue I’m talking about has to do with the Featured Projects page itself. The boxed elements where not laying out evenly (again my OCD) – there was an excerpt in one of the featured projects that was pulling into the element incorrectly, making that one featured project box a little smaller in hight then the rest. Im not sure why this one featured project was different then the others (note.. i did nothing to change the portfolio page’s content during these changes). The one featured project what was off made the page look uneven. After i switched out the post-content-carousel.php everything was working perfectly in the KPC, and much to my surprise it also fixed that one box that was uneven.
I doubt that this was the right method for a fix and as a matter of fact.. i’ll be the first to say that i know very little about altering php. Im a Graphic Artist, not a Developer. It was an experiment and in the end it worked out for me so i kept it. I don’t know if any of this will help you guys but there you have it.
Feel free to visit my site here to see the evenly shaped boxes I was referring to. Clean Lines. Love Kleo (again)!

joseJuly 4, 2016 at 16:30 #127941AbeKeymasterThanks Jose for your details response. Right now the switch OFF does the old functionality, while enabling it will allow you to set custom sizes. If you test the new beta then everything should work as it shoud without problems since it is back to the old way by default. Indeed I was maybe too confident that the images will look exactly the same, on our tests it did 🙂
I will appreciate if you take the time to test the new version and hopefully is the old and good behaviour.
All the best
