Stay far away from paid security services. It really can make your site instable and it creates a lag into the buddypress part which is very active.

Keep on track with these tips. (Assuming you already use long passwords, stay updated and use ht access files)

I’ve been using sitelock for years now scanning all my websites. Never had a problem with them and my website has never failed or been attacked in any way. Your advice is great for those who don’t trust paid services or for those who want to do the security themselves. I just prefer to be apart of my business rather than use that time making sure I don’t get hacked.

    Good Luck!

Hello, i suggest the following plugins:

    – iThemes Security
    – Wordfence

And some other anti spam plugins 🙂
But always make sure your passowrd has at least 2 uppercase letters, numbers and special characters
