Maximum execution time of 30 seconds,for subsequent comments

When I try to comment on a comment in activity stream I get

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in wp-content/themes/buddypress/buddypress-functions.php

When page is refreshed comment is submitted though.

This happens on subsequent comment replies. Any idea?

The error is on wp-content/themes/kleo/buddypress/buddypress-functions.php on line 794

it might be related to (Use WP comments’ threaded comment depth settings) https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/2768
