I am building a non-dating matching site. My profile fields are checked off in the Sweetdate / Buddypress admin area (see image below) but no profile fields are displaying (see second attached image).

I am running the following additional plugins:
    Form to Post
    Quick Featured Images

But I have deactivated them and still no profile fields are visible on the site.

Also, when I did the install, there weren’t any Activity, Groups, or Members pages for the Settings / Buddypress on the Pages tab. I had to create them.

I can’t provide a link to the site because it’s in my employer’s development environment and a VPN is required.

    Thank you!

Also, just to add, in addition to no profile fields showing up to the right of my picture, when I click to edit my profile, the URL is this: mysitename.com/members/nyager/profile/edit/group/1/ and it returns the 404 page.

I believe the problem has to do with the extended profiles. I have deactivated and activated the “Extended Profiles” option in Settings / Buddypress several times and it seems that it is causing additional “Base (Primary)” Profile Field Groups to be created. I think this is causing things not to align correctly, especially when importing the BP profile fields into the Sweetdate / Buddypress admin area. When imported and saved, the fields in that area are doing something funny because some of them are marked as (optional) in the Sweetdate / Buddypress admin area whereas in the Users / Profile Fields area, the same fields are (Required). Please let me know if you can look into this as soon as possible. Thank you for all your help!

Hi nkyantal, I’m not sure this is the same for you, but that section came back for me because I renamed the “Base” field group. Once I named it back to “Base” they returned.

Problem solved for me at least. Hope this helps you.

@inetwebguy: glad your problem is solved but it’s still not working for me. I would really appreciate some help from SeventhQueen! Upon further examination, the only Profile Field Group that is populating the drop down menu fields in the Sweetdate theme options / Buddypress admin area is the Lifestyle group. However, all of the Profile Field Groups and the fields within them are showing up in the Main Form and Horizontal Form areas. I really need some help. Thank you!

Thanks @Catalin. I believe the problem is the multiple Base (primary) Profile Field Groups in the admin Users / Profile Fields section. Is there any way to delete the primary profile field groups? I searched the Buddypress forums but could not find an answer. Is there code I can use to delete the extra primary profiel field groups? I need to get rid of them or I need new code to properly align what is pulling into the Sweetdate theme options / Buddypress admin area. I will send you a private message with a guest user NET ID (which you will use to log into the WP admin) and installation instructions on how to set up the VPN and then you should be able to see the issue. Can I please have an email address so I can get you a guest NET ID or should I just use support@seventhqueen.com?

@Catalin In order to view and make changes to my test website, please follow the below steps.

I approved a guest NetID for you that is valid for two weeks.

    Guest NetID: squeen_guest
    Password: Sweet1Date

I am sponsoring your guest NetID and will be responsible for your online use.

You will be able to use this NetID to set up the University of Rochester VPN. Please follow the instructions on how to install the VPN found here: http://rochester.edu/it/vpn/

Once you have connected to the UR VPN, you can visit the development environment for your fixes: https://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/wp-login

You can then log in to the WordPress development site using:

    NetID as Username: squeen_guest
    Password: Sweet1Date

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Once you are on the site, please look at the following:

    1. Users / Profile Fields: there are multiple Base (primary) groups which is causing an issue
    2. Fields in the SweetDate / Buddypress admin area
    3. Visit site: profile fields are not showing up after registration, not next to the avatar picture, and when you click to edit a profile, it returns a 404 page

    Thank you,
    Natalie

Hello, I just wanted to check in to see if you had a chance to review my site’s profile fields issue with the credentials that I sent in my PM on August 12. It’s been six days. Please help. Thank you!

Okay, had a new instance of WP installed and have this new information to add. When I click the “Edit Profile” button, it redirects to http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/1/ which returns a 404 page. However, when I put in the URL: http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/6/, it works and shows all the different profile groups (see screen shot) available to edit.

The About me group corresponds to the URL: http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/16/

The Myself Summary group corresponds to the URL (currently not shown because there are no profile fields in this group): http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/26/

The Looking for group corresponds to the URL: http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/36/

The Lifestyle group corresponds to the URL: http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/46/

The Physical group corresponds to the URL: http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/56/

Why does the end of the URL path start at “6” and go up in multiples of “10”? Where can I insert code to fix this and what code should I insert? Alternatively, how can I get the “Edit Profile” button to direct to the correct path of: http://www.wdev.meetcomakers.com/members/username/profile/edit/group/6/?

    Thank you!

Hi, I guess this is what you need https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/how-to-add-more-tabs-next-to-the-profile-image

Those profile links are automatically generated by Buddypress
