    Hi,

I’m having trouble on my site http://www.glassinebooks.com where when people try to request membership to a private buddypress group I set up, they can’t do it from the groups page. After some googling, I found that membership could be requested from the group directory rather than the group page, but I’m worried that will cause confusion. How can I make it so membership can be requested from the groups page?

I also found this similar topic in the forums here but with Sweetdate rather than Kleo, but I’m not sure if it applies to Kleo and it’s latest updates. https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/problem-with-private-groups-memberships

Hi, that topic does not apply here since it was a buddypress template problem in Sweetdate.
They should be able to do it from the groups page. See the attached image. The group should be private and you have to be logged in as a regular user

Ah, I figured it out, requesting membership from the group page was sending the user to a page to send a comment with their request, while sending a membership request from the groups directory sends the request without asking for a comment. It’s a bit confusing that it happens differently for the different pages, but it’s manageable.

    Thanks!
