Super slow and crashing

Do you guys have a problem with the kleo_bp_notifications_refresh&current request? I have read in other topics on this forum about people having problems with it. However, all the response ever is to set the live notifications interval to zero in theme options. I have done this and it didn’t help. In fact I have gone so far as to entirely delete buddypress from my site and it still keeps running and slowing and even breaking my site. I can’t have my dashboard and site open at the same time in chrome because the requests use up all of chromes’ memory. Please help! I have spent tons of time building this site right now I m thinking i have to start from scratch.

I found another solution to this problem in a topic called “BuddyPress Profile notifications tab throwing error” he figured out that:

“It was actually on the /membership-account/membership-levels/ page, not the register page.
Still, it was indeed a plugin issue. But funny enough, it wasn’t that I had too many, it was that I didn’t have ones Active for that page. Without BuddyPress and the bp-custom plugins active, that generated the errors. When I went through to look at deactivating some, I tested with those on and it works.”

However, I don’t really understand this solutions, and besides the query goes all crazy on every page of my site, this guys problem was the same though, the request got sent thousands of times per minute until it crashed his server.

Fixed it! the problem happens when you deactivate parts of buddy press but you have VC elements on your site that call for those parts.

Do you know which parts of BuddyPress were deactivated that were causing the problem? My install is having similar issues.

It is hard to say cause I tried so much stuff, I think it was something like having groupsmdeactivated but having one of those kleo grids somewhere calling for groups, I think if you have any menus calling for buddy press with out that b3ing activated it messes it up. Good luck

Thanks, @Radu. I have replaced the files. I have not examined the files. Does this only apply to the notifications, or something else? I ask because I previously disabled Live Notifications, but could turn them back on to test.

Yes this applies only for notifications. That file has a little patch (an extra check) about notifications interval.

If you want to turn notifications back and you cannot, try to revert original files and recheck.
