Well, I see, SD 3.0 but, Child Theme (new, because I downloaded the new full pack) Does Not work.
Activity, Members, Groups… Nothing!
I can’t see nothing New in this 3.0 NOT more criteria (members, groups, forums…) for Search, NOT new menu bar, etc. Is the Same. SD 2.x with some updates.
Well, as I said, several things do not work.
I see that the Theme installs more plugin … Too many plugins = slowdowns and other drawbacks. You know.
There are Not improvement in CSS (desktop / mobile). The profile background problem continues > If you use a very clear background the text is not displayed.
There are also no new features useful or necessary in a Dating Theme, for example:More search criteria (members, groups, forums…)
Better interface for reading and sending messages
Send Messages Button, in the Members Directory
A more practical menu: icon-text or only icon: Profile, Messages, Notifications, Others (Config, LogIn / LogOut, etc.)
Direct Scrolldown to e.g. some notification
More Privacy (allow to block members, or privacy of messages / mentions: everyone, only friends…)
Function: Who visit my Profile (Widget)?
Sidebars or Widgets specific to pages, Profile, Messages, etc.
In the Member Directory: View Matches, or Find Possible Matches
More areas for Advertisements, e.g. In the Activity page
Widget for the Copyright areaTherefore, SD 3.0 is NOT an improvement of the Theme, it is only a maintenance update… with new bugs.

In sweetdate 3.0 there two major updates
1. Page Builder!
2. Bp profile search plugin, like KELO search one!Complete changelog : https://themeforest.net/item/sweet-date-more-than-a-wordpress-dating-theme/4994573#item-description__-changelog
So it’s a huge improved by adding Elementor visual builder and bp search form in sweetdate, making the theme more flexible.

1. The child theme by default works as the parent theme but depends on how do you modify the child theme and how you handle the templates.
2. I see but that was the plan with those releases, we have focused on that main features mentioned in my previous post.

For the shortcode issue, it seems that there missing some files , try to re-upload theme or to re-upload theme files over the existing ones
For the problems that you have it using child theme, in the changelog of sweetdate 3.0 it’s written
– IMPORTANT NOTICE: All BuddyPress templates were rewritten and your old templates overrides from child theme won’t work. We moved to the bp-legacy integration for BuddyPress templates since SweetDate was using a deprecated integration.
So that can be a possible issue!And you should re-adapt the changes using the new templates.

Confused.
I just upgraded to 3.0. Luckily on my test server. To find out the home page is out of the window. I must install the demo data!
Just for the record, I have my home page up and running in 70 languages now. On a LIVE website.
What do you want? Go back to the demo database to just applaud your developers? Are you supposed to support me, or am I supposed to support you? Does anybody over there understand that their product is actually being used?
Branchcut and thanks. Anyone who now tries to follow me, will have to figure out how to downgrade first. And they can not. Great. Still not a bad deal for what the theme cost me. Mant thanks for blocking any future competition.

I cannot fix the templates from the child theme for you since that it’s something custom and our support cannot cover that. If you have modified some templates in the child you will have to re do that but using the new templates instead.
Related to that list, I understand that those are Fundamentals for dating theme community in your point of view, those features cannot be added as demand since it requires very much time for development and our support cannot do that.

If you want to downgrade the theme version you will find in the main files pack from themeforest /Main Files/old a highest 2.9.X version you can install it and revert to thre prvious version.
You can customize the new version on staging site and also the downgrade as well

The last version before 3.0 is great to continue on my own where “support and development could not be bothered anymore”. Make sure you keep the older version off the torrent sites.
Roader, dig into php et al., make your own version. I like some of your ideas. It is all open software. What others refuse to provide, you can build yourself.

I have not changed ANYTHING. I uninstalled the theme and I reinstalled it, and you see. It does not work correctly.
Please, check your upgrade 3.0 and improve it.

I don’t know php, only some css. For that reason, developers should improve the product. I can only provide practical ideas.
Couple of tips, Roader:
I use a plugin called Duplicator. With that I make backups. Relatively simple to use. My site is quite new, a backup now is a lttle over 1 Gb. In other words, even my mobile could keep 10 backups, whilñe my whatsapp still functions.
I use an Amazon account (free) as a test setup. However, on any desktop/laptop you can run wordpress too. Besides that, I have a Linux server at home as an extra playground. Sandboxes.
Whenever updates of themes or plugins appear, I use duplicator to make a backup. And first update in a sandbox. Plus always read the upgrade notes! See what happens. Do not forget, even when an upograde might be a super cool improvement, the average user is conservative. The averge user hates changes. He/she just figuered out how everything works, is not there to admire design nor functionality, but is looking for a date!
Run through the upgrade notes, see what actually changed and do some basic tests. Only when happy, apply the update to your live site. When things really have changed, also write a help page for your users.
A sandbox is also prefect for playing. With CSS. With PHP. With MySQL. You mess up, you just reload your latest backup. While you learn.
Programming used to be first learning the whole language from A-Z. From a book. Now it is more searching in Google. Trial and error. Google on things. On an error message, for instance. You learn while you go. Just do not forget to make a document of changes to your live site in case a new update of a theme or plugin comes out. For complexity, CSS can be as complex as PHP. But also as simple. Or javascript, for that matter.
Get a sandbox and play! Don’t forget, for, what was it, $35 or so, anybody can buy sweetdate. And copycat you. For $35. But any additional change you make, is yours. And that is value! With one of my old projects on internet, a guy emailed me, insiting I should tell him where I downloaded my software, because he could not find it on the web. So I zipped a blank page and sent it to him. He was more angry, while I told him, that is where I started, the rest is mine. Any sports car you like? Possibly I bought that later, from keeping my secrets for me, I have had quite a few. It all began with a sandbox too. A tiny, old and cranky 100MHz pentium PC. And playing around a bit.
There are several changes to this update that I do not like.
1) Use more plugins… (more plugins, more server request… slow…)
2) Do not import the style of the home page.
Please, send to me, the all shortcodes for HomePage, or your Elementor codes for HP.
3) The search of Members without style. Please fix it.
4) Again using FontAwesome 3 :-/ Please, update to Fontawesome 4.
5) Error installing some plugins…
6) New Features of a Dating Site: None.
Radu, I reinstalled the Theme.
The new update is not favorable if you have a site with more than 1000 members and you have to reconfigure everything again. A disaster.
Think about that next time …
Member Activity layout was also changed. Change photo link on profile page moved below the user picture. Menu under user, favourites etc. was changed.
I just think of this 90 yr old man who registered last week, finally understands that “move mouse up” actually means “mouse forward” as the mouse will not work while no longer on the table. He might go back to Aldi or Lidl with his new laptop, claiming it acts funny and does not work.
I make websites for users, guys. Sweetdate 3.0 is in fact Sweetdate2 BETA!
Hello, my name is Mark Z. I just installed facebook 2.0. To understand how the new homepage works, unfortunately I had to re-install de demo database from 1978.
Also many things changed on the pages. Buttons might no longer be were they used to be. I have no time for that as I have to reconfigure everything. And that is a lot of work! Phew!
In the mean time, re-register, and figure out how it all works now. As our developers and support people are too busy now.
In the mean time, enjoy our demo pages. And see what a fantastic job we did.

@Radu, BP Profile Search causes a conflict with the BP Native Search Bar.Pic. 1. with the plugin active.
Pic. 2. with the plugin disable (bar too long, graphic disharmony).
Pc. 3. For mobile devices: The search button on one side, and the bar on the other. Misalignment. Style broken. For mobile there are a lot of elements misalignmented or poorly located. PLEASE CHECK IT!Hi,

I did reinstall everything from scratch, and as you can see, there are things that do not work.
The previous version worked better.

1) Change Cover Img Does Not Work. Cover does not change. And the white text is not seen on white background.
But there are no problems with the Group Cover. Group Cover automatically adds shadows to the text. You know that.2) Activity filter by, Misaligned, here change padding > 4px to 0px.
3) Again: Child Theme does not work (SD 2.9.11). Kleo Video Button does not work (3.0) and remains loading and shows nothing.
Recommendation:
Friend, take some days and improve the Theme. 3.0.1
Also includes (for now):– Widget for the Copyright area
– More areas for Advertisements, e.g. In the Activity page
– Send P. Messages Button, in the Members Directory (CHECK THIS *)– Direct Scrolldown to e.g. some notification (if that improvement is easy for you now)

The Code has: bp_loggedin_user_id() but, this not work.
The Button is visible for all. Check it please. Like Add Friend Button [ + ] the Message button needs to be visible only for Logged in users.Brother, if you’re going to do something, do it with quality. (>_<)
I have had to reinstall everything like three times.
Video Button on Home.
Problem: Arises when importing, Demo, Styles, Modern or Car.The other problem. DOES NOT import all demo content using Theme Setup. For example, Groups.
All the shortcodes of the Home Page are not there.
Problem: The inclusion of Elementor. More plugins, more slowness. I even saw that Slowness in the Demo. Charges too much with Elemetor. So you should put that optional.
Now, in 3.0, These Background DOES NOT Work if you disable Elementor and RevSlider. Before 2.9.11 all okey.
PLEASE Check it all and update!

Just I’ve tried to reproduce the background problem that you reported but it seems to be isolated to you since I wasn’t able to reproduce it on my local install, so changing the background for header section it’s possible with rev slider and elementor activated and de-activated.
Please don’t report thinks that not works on your end with custom modification as theme bugs, before reporting test in a very clean install only with the parent theme (latest version) if you are able to reproduce what you want to report.
