Still not working, but we know that it’s a server issue on our side – tested the theme on multiple environments, which brought it down to this; probably something about mod-security. Right now we hardcoded the css until we fix the server issue.

ok, I made a test installation and a separate error log – it says this:

but it was not generated automatically – I did it manually, in order to check whether it works if generated manually (not even the error-logs show why); but it didn’t. I will get to the bottom of this with our server guys – locally it works just fine, so there must be something restricted on the server side. would you mind sending me your IP address? then I can generate a FTP user and whiteflag your IP so you have access.

I circumvented the system by copying custom_styles directly into the style.css of the child theme. that’s not a proper solution, but it works for now. still, it would be nice to know, why it’s not working… have there ever been problems with mod_security?

Can’t give you ftp because there’s an IP-restriction for all non-public activities.

I tried everything you wrote – even made all folders and files writeable, just for testing – but it doesn’t generate a file in wp-content/uploads/custom-styles/. Checked the error-log of our server: nothing.
