Well I guess I made it work.
Here’s what I would say for people who might have some troubles setting up the Facebook login integration:
1. You must create your Facebook App to make it work. In order to create your app you must have a dev account on facebook and access this website: https://developers.facebook.com/apps
2. Once you create it you must inform the app details such as website URL, the app dev email contact (which was my main issue).
3. Make sure your app is set to be public under the Status & Review tab.
Enjoy! 😀
roderswissParticipant@sharmstr sorry about that then.
Well would you mind sharing a step by step of what you’ve done to make the facebook login integration work?
A good first question would be how long ago have you set your app? Maybe it changed from the since you developed your website.
roderswissParticipant@sharmstr in order to get everything up and running we need to put the Facebook APP to a public state which means we have to submit the app to review. In order to submit the APP we have to inform the “Items” we want to put under submission. Each Item requires notes to explain why we do want to have access to that kind of info.
The KLEO theme development team should have made a tutorial on how to correctly setup the facebook login. It’s sells like it’s easy to do it and it’s not. Many complains about that.
It’s true the theme is powerful and have great features, but I believe that kind of details could make KLEO theme really stand out from any other company.roderswissParticipant@sharmstr I had the same problem using the default theme.
What I found out is this: If you try to install and run it locally it won’t work.
This is not because of KLEO Theme is because of BuddyPress. I’ve done some research and found out that many people had the same problem that I had and it’s all regarding BuddyPress plugin.
I was running my install locally on MAMP and just could make it work. As soon as I uploaded everything to my live server it worked.
Hope it will help people out there.
roderswissParticipantBtw I just reinstalled everything and installed only the plugins that come with the theme, tried to register and the same problem is showing up…
roderswissParticipant@sharmstr I’m developing my website locally therefore I do not have credentials for you at this time.
How could you help me then?
Thanks
roderswissParticipantI’m having the same trouble to set up the registration page. It just doesn’t work, I try to register but the page is reloaded at the same register page with all the fields filled and no password…
roderswissParticipantAny progress on that? I have the same problem. When I register via the regular form and click Register, it just reload the page with all fields filled but the password.
