Thanks Abe, but I think you misunderstand the problem. The point of importing demo content is to fill the site with pages already designed and laid out similar to how the theme is seen in the ‘live preview’ function on the envato marketplace. The whole point of using demo content in the first place is to use this content as a base for all further design work.
If I wish to setup the theme as per your instructional video (https://archived.seventhqueen.com/video-tutorials/sweetdate-install-and-setup.html) and use the demo content as the video does, than the fact that ‘BuddyPress automatically generates content for those pages’ is irrelevant if the problem lies with the demo content not importing properly across the whole site.
For instance, trying to set up a static homepage like it shows in the video (4:54) is impossible without having the ‘Home’ page properly imported to link it to in the settings. None of the pages are importing!!
I don’t want to waste any more time writing in this support forum. I’d like to talk with someone else please, Abe. I don’t feel like you understand the issue, so I’d appreciate if you could put a colleague onto this. Thanks.
486erParticipantWow, that’s so helpful, thanks. Yes, I could do that, but that would defeat the purpose of the demo content wouldn’t it? I’d like to import and use the demo content as a guide, not make blank pages.
Maybe there’s a version conflict with WordPress and the theme’s demo content, either way it’s not functioning as promised, and it seems that I’m not the only one having this problem too.
I’m sure all of us who are having this problem would appreciate a little more investigation into the matter rather than a one sentence answer.
