October 12, 2016 at 03:04 in reply to: Pages showing up in News focus element on home page, where only posts should show up #139216csloanParticipant
I have already updated the site and still had the issue. I have now tried editing the wp-config file as you instructed by changing falso to true, then adding that other line of code below it. I uploaded it back to the site via FTP, overwriting the old wp-config file. When I reloaded the page this appeared over the top menu:

csloanParticipantI don’t think it’s a plugin, but maybe. I haven’t installed any new plugins, but will try what you suggested.
But before I do, please see attached screenshots. It seems that the profile pictures are showing for the people that have their pic showing in 3 spots in their user profile in the back end (like Norm Kent and Amanda Reinman). And for the people where their head shot is not showing (just a gray silhouette) their image is just in two places in their profile section…like Paul Armentano or Chris Thompson. These people’s images used to show without any issue. So not sure why some show and some do not.
But the difference is that top pic not showing.
I did just remove then reupload the profile pics of those that weren’t showing, and that seems to have fixed it. But still weird issue.

There are some others that are working, but most are not. See attached screen shots. Even in your video you can see that Chris Goldstein’s is not. And in screen shots, for example, Cheri Sicard

September 6, 2016 at 22:14 in reply to: Slider Revolution main background images ideal size settings #135181csloanParticipantRadu,
Thanks for getting back to me. I applied the custom CSS you provided, and although I wasn’t asking to get rid of that white bar in my ticket here, I applied the CSS and am glad it got rid of that small white bar. However, that’s not the issue. The issue, which still exists after applying the CSS, is that when you scroll down the page and let the menu bar go sticky, then scroll back up, it cuts off the top of the slider, but only seems to happen in Chrome for some reason.
I also applied the settings in Slider Revolution that you suggested and still having same issue.
Thanks Radu,
Chris
Also, btw, we hired Laura to do some custom work in the header area, and she’s still working on it, so maybe it’s that? But not sure? Just thought I would mention it, if it helps.

Happens every time in Chrome.
August 31, 2016 at 04:24 in reply to: Slider Revolution main background images ideal size settings #134400csloanParticipantI think it’s something with the sticky menu. Try it in Chrome. If you load the site, the sliders look fine….but then once you scroll down that back up, the top is getting cut off my the header.
August 31, 2016 at 04:22 in reply to: Slider Revolution main background images ideal size settings #134397csloanParticipantI don’t think that’s it, as the attached slider image, for example, is 1900×500…and the image size setting for these sliders in Slider Revolution is 1900×568. Plus it’s set to “Auto” so I would think it would auto size. But if not, nonetheless, the height setting is 568.
The strange thing is that I changed the setting to 668, as you suggested making it higher, looked at the page and as expected the sliders fit, but I don’t want the slider area that high, and since the most of new slider images (like the one attached) are only 500px high I figure they should fit. So I changed the slider height setting back to what it was, 568px high, and when I went back to the site, it all looked good again. But then I scrolled down the page, then back up the page. After getting to the top of the page again, the sliders were back to being cut-off.

The slider image itself? Or the settings? Because these sliders fit in there before and were not cut off like this. Can you tell me what the ideal slider size should be, or what the settings should be?
csloanParticipantBack to the font issue…at the link you provided me the first thing I am supposed to do is add the following code to the head, yes? And can I just paste this in the “Edit CSS” section?
add_action(‘wp_head’,’Kleo_hook_font’);
function Kleo_hook_font() {
$output=”<link rel=’stylesheet’ href=’http://linktomyfont.com/font.css’ type=’text/css’ media=’all’ />”;
echo $output;
}Also:
1. I know that I need to edit the href: “http://linktomyfont.com/font.css” to reflect where I put the font file, which would be located at: http://freedomleaf.com/wp-content/themes/kleo/assets/Font/WHATEVERICALLTHEFONTFILE.css….So, can “WHATEVERICALLTHEFONTFILE” be a folder containing all the fonts I want to add? Or is this .css supposed to be per each font?
2. I have a folder of All Google’s fonts that I would like to add. It’s a zipped folder. Is it possible to just add all of them? Or is that too many? Just not sure if then I should pick and choose which fonts I’d like to add. But if that’s better to do, I will.
3. I would then just need to know how to do this, if I can upload the entire Google fonts family folder:
Then add to css (wp-admin -> theme options -> general settings -> quick css)body,a,b,h1,h2,h3,h4,h5,h5 { font-family : ‘FONT NAMES’; }
Thanks for all of your help Radu,
Chris
csloanParticipantOK…I am using W3 total cache already. It’s really more that the essential grid sections take longer to load. The page itself loads fast and fine. If it were the entire page/site then yes, I would think some of the page speed tweaks would help. But what I need to load faster are just the items related to the plugin. But Anyway…OK, I will look at the links you sent.
The other link helped…found what I needed there and how to fix the date issue. I had it organized by”descending” date vs “ascending” date….I guess I thought descending meant latest post to oldest post. Switched it to ascending and that worked.
Thanks Radu
csloanParticipantIt also doesn’t seem to be showing the latest posts by date. I just added a new post, for example, with the Tag (I am organizing the essential grid posts by tags, vs categories) “Changing Lives”…I posted a new article today, tagged it with “changing lives”, and it doesn’t seem to be showing up in the grid.
What am I doing wrong…or what am I missing?
Thanks
csloanParticipantI marked this as resolved…but then remembered that I had another issue with Essential Grid…#2 in my original post….the issue with load speed. The page fully loads except for the grids. Any way of speeding up the grids load time?
The temp page again is: http://freedomleaf.com/freedom-leaf-magazine-home-page-design-redux/
Thanks
August 25, 2016 at 21:41 in reply to: Slider Revolution main background images ideal size settings #133905csloanParticipantNow for some reason the sliders are looking even more cut off and all I have done in relation to this issue since posting this ticket is disable slider on mobile (not saying that’s what I think caused the new issue, just saying that’s all I’ve done….so not sure why now they look worse). See attached screenshots.
They didn’t look right before, but at least they were not getting cut-off like they are now.
Attachments:
You must be logged in to view attached files.csloanParticipantAh!! OK…well that was easy. I was telling it on the Grid Settings page to show 8 posts, and it was showing 9….so you see my confusion.
I assume now that I set the max entries to 5 (they want 5 now, not 8) that it will show the 5 latest, by date? So when a new post is posted, the oldest one will fall off?
Thanks Radu
csloanParticipantYes it does. I activated the theme “Twenty Sixteen” (if that’s what you meant by default wordpress theme) and it does the same thing. See attached screen shot

csloanParticipantLaura activated the main theme and then reactivated the child theme. That cleared the cache and fixed the issue.
However, I am still not clear on why, after the last update, Kleo changed my logo size to “xx-large” (see the screenshot in that thread. You can answer me over there if that helps. I still have to do what you suggested above for the Fonts…otherwise I would just close this ticket.)
Thanks Radu
csloanParticipantI tried replacing the css file with your file…and it looks like it screwed up a lot of the style settings on the site. But before I made the change I backed up the original CSS file just in case. When I saw that I didn’t like the changes from your CSS file, I just put the original CSS file back. I also thought that I shouldn’t be changing any CSS until Laura is done with what she’s doing. But the site is still really screwed up. Please look at any of the posts pages…and why are all the post titles still in blue on the home page? I don’t think Laura has done this…but I asked her too.
csloanParticipantWell that’s the thing…I had to reduce the font size in Uber Menu after the theme, after the last update, changed the font sizing to “xx-large”. And the banner was sitting over the left side navigation menu before I changed the font size….the banner issue only happened after I updated.
Laura is doing some customizations of the header area now (this started after the issues in that ticket and are not related), so I will wait until she is done to make any changes to the CSS.
Thanks Radu
August 23, 2016 at 03:31 in reply to: Slider Revolution main background images ideal size settings #133466csloanParticipantThe sliders still do not look good in mobile. I set the width in the settings back to “Auto” and uploaded a few news sliders that are 1900px wide. They look OK on a desktop, but not good at all on mobile.
csloanParticipantOK…well I just pasted it again in there. But as you’re working on the site and have the header set to full wide it’s not having the issue….but the ads are showing…

I noticed that at, for example, dopemagazine.com (not using Kleo, but they are using a slider plugin) that their sliders are full width, not distorted but are only around 1253px wide.
Are you saying this if I have our guy do the slider images at say, 1250px wide (for example) and have the settings at “Auto”, that it’ll look good…on desktop and mobile?
Thanks Laura
csloanParticipantOK…well I just added the code again and the ad appeared in the wrong place….see the attached screen shot from just now. I can’t leave the ad up that way, so I took down the code. Not sure what it is that you’re doing differently.
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=”7″ delay=”17″ crop=”no” hide_for_id=7684,8495,8492,8489,8632,8670]
Plus, what’s up with Kleo changing the font size to “xx-large”? As I mentioned, I manually changed the font size in Uber Menu to get it back to the way it was….but I left the sub-menu under Subscribe >> Newsletter tab so you can see what’s happened.

You must be logged in to view attached files.csloanParticipantI will try this…but I only want the font to be for one portion of my home page. I don’t want the font, once I upload it using the method in the link you gave me, to be a font used through out the site…just as headers for Essential Grid section (to be specific). Will I still be able to do this, without having to change the font for the rest of the site (like I don’t want to change H1, H2, H3, etc)
August 19, 2016 at 19:51 in reply to: Change width of content container when site is set to full width #133227csloanParticipantGreat thanks!
csloanParticipantI manually changed the font size for Uber menu, so fixed this issue. However, still weird that Kleo changed the font-size to xx-large.
Also, still having issue with header banner ad
csloanParticipantThis is the issue with the font size in my Uber Menu sub menus….Kleo seems to have changed my font size to “xx-large” when I updated. So how do I change it back to how it was previously? And I never adjusted this….so I have no idea what the default size was?
The attached screen shot was sent to me by Uber Menu support. It seems that Uber menu inherits the style from Kleo….so it’s changing the font size to “xx-large”
Attachments:
You must be logged in to view attached files.csloanParticipantI had to take it down. I don’t want to leave it up and active like that when it’s not working.
Feel free to add it again when you’re looking into the issue:
[bsa_pro_ad_space id=”7″ delay=”17″ crop=”no” hide_for_id=7684,8495,8492,8489,8632,8670]
Thanks
csloanParticipantOK…it’s activated…and still having the issues.
Please also look at size of font in Uber menu….way too big still. And I didn’t change the size. Just did that after update
Thanks
csloanParticipantHi Radu,
Well it wasn’t that…it was that it was over-sized (double it’s usual height)and the text of the post title was not showing…and the text was the only thing that could be clicked to open the story.
However, the bug must have been update related as I just did the 4.1.2 update today and the issue went away.
