OK…so based on your video I noticed that you’re using a MAC. So I asked a guy in the office who also has a MAC (I’m on Windows 10) to test it. It worked for him….no issue. I tried it again, and had the same issue. I asked another guy in the office to try it on his Windows machine, and it too didn’t work. We’ve also, on our Windows machines, tried it on Firefox and Edge….same issue, doesn’t work. Sooo….seems to be a Windows thing, I think? Anyway that you can try it on a Windows machine, just to see? No idea how to fix this. But it did only start after I updated the VC plugin via theme’s pre-packaged plugin update/install page.
csloanParticipantOK…tried that now. Didn’t work. Same issue. Uninstalled it, cleared cache, reinstalled it, cleared cache….tested….same issue, won’t let me add any elements. It registers the click by changing color slightly, but the element doesn’t get added to the page.
csloanParticipantIn my research on this it seems to happen only with pre-packaged versions of VC. And when the theme told me that I needed to update VC, I did so….that’s when it broke.
csloanParticipantI just figured out how to do it automatically via Softaculous….so it’s up to date now. I figured it would solve the 2nd issue that I described above in the original post but it did not. Visual Composer is still not working. This only happened after I updated VC when the system told me there was an update and it needs to be updated. Is there anyway of reverting back to the previous version of VC? Anyone else having this issue?
csloanParticipantOK…great…I’ll look into this. Thank you. Just really weird that WordPress is not telling me there’s an update and providing the one click update link.
csloanParticipantI know it should Laura….but there was and is not notice or link for me to upgrade WordPress as there always has been in every site I have ever built. I have never seen this before where WordPress is out of date and I get no notice that it is, nor how to update it manually. So How do I update it manually? And why would this happen?
csloanParticipantTo add to this, I am using Windows 10 and Chrome. I tried Firefox, and had the same issue.
csloanParticipantScreenshot attached. What I am talking about is circled in red. And when live they move slightly and move more with the mouse/cursor.
And I’d like to know if this is a Kleo only feature? Or if it’s something that can be purchased at Code Canyon as a plugin or add-on.
Thanks

Yes, about 2-3 days after I posted about this issue again, the essential grid blocks started showing up again. No idea what was blocking them before. No, it was not an update to VC, because I did that update immediately after updating Kleo to .7 ver. and they still were not showing.
I honestly had just left the site alone, no updates to plugins, not even posted any new stories. Nothing. And it just fixed itself. Very strange.
Despite it working well now, I would like to figure out the cause so when it happens again, I know why. But it’s difficult to diagnose it when it’s working….and I’d rather not risk breaking it again somehow.
csloanParticipantRe-opening this ticket, as the Essential Grid elements are not showing again on the home page of FreedomLeaf.com. It seems, in reviewing this post, that it was the theme update that fixed the issue. I thought maybe that was it again this time, but just updated to 4.1.7 and issue still there. I have tried disabling several plugins and no luck. Tried different browsers, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, no luck. Deleted cache on both the site and the browser and still no luck. Visual composer was updated as well with the theme update.
There should be an essential grid (of about 5 or so posts) beneath the blue titles “Fresh off the Press”, “Free The Leaf” “Entertainment” and “Changing Lives” You can see these titles but it’s empty space beneath each.
So no idea what the issue is now.
csloanParticipantOK…never mind…..NOW after going back and forth between the two versions, I see the “new version available, update now” link. Was not there before for some reason
csloanParticipantI just tried adding all of the files and folders of the new update via FTP manually, but also added the style.css file from the previous version and didn’t work. Got this error:
Kleo Template is missing. Standalone themes need to have a index.php template file. Child themes need to have a Template header in the style.css stylesheet.

January 9, 2017 at 21:16 in reply to: Essential Grid preventing Slider Revolution slides from linking #149301csloanParticipantThat’s seems to have fixed the issue. It’s working now on my end. Thanks! The other day it was working intermittently….it would work on some slides and not others, then I would refresh the page and the slide that it worked on then didn’t work. But now all seem to be working. Thanks so much for the fix.

As mentioned I tried it in Chrome, Firefox and Edge. Slides are not clickable. I tried it on two co-worker’s Mac computers and same issue.
My exact steps are simply opening the home page and clicking on any of the large rotating slider images above the fold. Even if you hold your cursor over any of the sliders, it doesn’t show the link in the bottom left corner of the screen as it would show with any other link you hold cursor over.
Windows 10, Chrome, Kleo and WP are up to date.
November 28, 2016 at 19:48 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #145469csloanParticipantWell I tried that too, before updating the Kleo parent theme files. I disabled all of the plugins at once and cleared the cache…problem still remained. I think the page template is missing for sure. Just not sure why reinstalling theme didn’t fix the problem.
November 27, 2016 at 07:22 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #145379csloanParticipantOK..tried that. It didn’t work. I downloaded a fresh copy of the theme from my Theme Forest acct, unzipped it, then via FTP deleted all the files in the current Kleo parent folder, then copied over all the files and folders from the fresh copy. Didn’t change anything.
And now I stupidly made a minor change to the current home page, and when I saved it now the widget sidebar issue is appearing there. Seems to happen on any page in which I make any kind of change then save it.
November 21, 2016 at 19:09 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #144929csloanParticipantChild theme or parent? And if it’s the child theme, will I lose any custom CSS work? I assume if it’s parent theme I am re-installing I shouldn’t lose any custom CSS, yes?
Thanks
November 20, 2016 at 04:12 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #144836csloanParticipantOK…I deactivated all plugins and issue still remained. So somehow page template was removed from child theme. How do I get it back? Thanks
November 18, 2016 at 00:41 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #144636csloanParticipantRadu,
Again…please read the original post! This is NOT FOR AN INNER PAGE! The only reason it is an inner page now is because it is taking this long to fix the issue and I can’t have that broken page as our home page. So the page that is currently the home page is only temporary. The page /freedom-leaf-magazine is normally our home page and the issue happened when it was our home page.
Nonetheless, I still tried it, despite it not making sense in regards to this issue, and what it did is make the slider now fit WITH THE SIDE BAR. I DON’T WANT THE SIDE BAR ON THE PAGE. What it seems like you’re trying to solve for me is how to not make the side bar appear on top of the slider…..which I don’t care about. I don’t want the side bar on the page in the first place. And simply changing the slider setting from “full width” to “auto” is not going to fix this bug.
Furthermore, /freedom-leaf-ezines/ doesn’t even have a slider on the page….so how is this issue even related to Slider Revolution??

A. Please read original post for this issue, as the side bar is not showing like it normally would had I set the settings to show a sidebar (see screen shot). You say the side bar is appears normally? How is that, when the side bar is showing on top of the slider? And the page appeared fine prior to adding the iframe code in the raw HTML element box. And now this issue has happened on two different pages, while all other pages are fine and do not show a side bar.
B. I don’t have that option, to set the page to full width. The site is set at wide though. And only blog posts show the side bar. No other page shows the side bar. See screen shot

I didn’t touch the slider and it was working fine. All I did was update the iframe code (in the raw HTML VC element) from issuu.com (which embeds the latest digital issue of our magazine on the home page) and an image next to it. Prior to this the page and slider worked fine. I also changed the the raw html and image back to what it was before, and that did not fix the problem.
Furthermore, after this happened, and after submitting this ticket. I needed to also embed a copy of our digital issue on our ezines page (http://www.freedomleaf.com/freedom-leaf-ezines/ ) and it did the same thing. This page should not have a side bar and suddenly the side bar appears and won’t go away. And this page has no slider on it.
November 12, 2016 at 05:22 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #143990csloanParticipantAnd I tried just deleting the code from issuu.com on the /freedom-leaf-magazine page and it didn’t fix the issue
November 12, 2016 at 05:16 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #143988csloanParticipantThis is the code, not that it should matter really, since never before had there been an issue with it:
<iframe width=”100%” height=”469″ src=”//e.issuu.com/embed.html#19776705/40659901″ frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe>
November 12, 2016 at 05:15 in reply to: Sidebar suddenly showing on page that shouldn’t be there #143987csloanParticipantIt seems to have to do with issuu and embedding their iframe code on a page. I just did it here: http://www.freedomleaf.com/freedom-leaf-ezines/ where we’ve never had a problem before, now all of a sudden when I embedded the latest issue on this page, it’s doing the same thing now.
csloanParticipantJust FYI, due to a company event we are having tonight for the elections here, I had to change the home page slider to a static image, so that when clicked the image would take the visitor to the page. I did try using Slider Revolution to do this by just creating a new slide with one background image and as a “hero scene”, but that wouldn’t link either. So I deleted the Slider Revolution element from the home page and just put a single image element in there, used the slide image at full size and full width and linked it.
The issue described in this ticket can still be viewed at:
csloanParticipantIn playing with it some more the issue seems to be intermittent. I can get it to work sometimes on some slides, but then other times on other slides it doesn’t work. Some slides work sometimes, then reload the page then they don’t work. And vice versa. There doesn’t seem to be any real pattern as to which ones work and which ones do not. And checked the back end again, and they are all set properly and should link to their respective posts.
csloanParticipantWorks now. I think it had something to do with the latest update….that might have fixed it. Thanks
csloanParticipantWeird. Now it works. Must have been the very latest update (4.6.1.2) that fixed it.
Thanks
csloanParticipantThat’s strange. No matter what browser I tested it on, Chrome (which is what I normally use), Firefox, Safari, or Edge, it does not work. I can click anywhere on any slide and it does nothing. Tested it on two other computers too.
csloanParticipantI’m not sure if the JS errors I am seeing are the cause…and even how to fix them (if I’m looking at the right back-end panel for these errors). Seems that there are 2….one related to my ad block plugin (Ads 2 Pro), which the page worked fine with the ads and that plugin activated before. But I did nonetheless try deactivating the plugin and it did not fix the issue. I re-activated it now….as it what serves our ads.
The other error seems to maybe be related to a specific font not loading, “waiting for the sunrise” Not sure how to fix that.
Other than that, I have no idea what else the problem could be. I thought maybe it was related to not being up to date, but now the theme has been updated.
The page again is: http://www.freedomleaf.com/freedom-leaf-magazine/
Thanks
csloanParticipantAh! Interesting! I have only checked Chrome (my usual browser) and Firefox. Neither show up. Odd thing is they did used to show, and the only thing I did was change the name of the page and make it my home page in the reading settings. After checking it and seeing the missing grids, I changed the home page back to the original designed page.
Thanks for showing me this and adding to the ticket!
October 17, 2016 at 21:59 in reply to: Pages showing up in News focus element on home page, where only posts should show up #139993csloanParticipantIn what demo?
I didn’t know to deactivate the child theme, but I will try that.
csloanParticipantIt seems to happen sporadically. Like now, it’s back. I even set this ticket to resolved shortly after adding it because saw that the black bar was back up top there. But then it disappeared again, despite being logged in, so I re-opened the ticket. Next time I see it happen I will try deactivating the Child theme and see what happens.
October 15, 2016 at 00:57 in reply to: Pages showing up in News focus element on home page, where only posts should show up #139743csloanParticipantI totally deleted that plugin (since I didn’t really even use it anyway) and tested it again, and still having the same issue. I even cleared the site’s cache and minify settings (using WP Fastest Cache plugin) and tried again, and still same issue. See attached screenshots of test pages. I have since deleted those pages FYI
