Great, that is working. Thanks for all your help and support!

This CSS was given to fix an other problem. That one is gone and I think that is because of the updates.

Finally, all is fixed. Much thanks and appreciation, keep up the good work!

I understand you&colleagues tell people to get a developer to fix certain problems, I think because you guys are so busy. And I understand that for some things you give general codings that apply on the full website.

But, both, I have been told that about three to four times in the last months while these were problems that had to do with the fundamentals.

Please don’t get me wrong, I’m thankful for the help and will pay for the continuation of the support.
But I have background in graphic design so I can help myself quite good and understand when a problem is a fundamental or developer. It took a long time to communicate and fix the problems of two websites, including quite some frustration because of the stagnation and rejective answers I got a few times.

I thought it might be helpful to share customer experience, as I know that can be of value.

I did the updates, all went well.

News highlight
Query set with posts works fine. But when the query is set with only portfolio items it doesn’t work.
For now that is fine by me, although it might be good to know it’s not jet fully working 😉

Background settings
Unfortunately it’s not working although something has changed, because while refreshing the page you can see at first the site is loading the background and then it disappears again.

Hope you can figure out what is the mystery behind this 😉

These ways are known and used to apply background and news highlight. There was no problem in the beginning.
I’ve tried these one more time to see if anything changed. And tried it on a new page to see if it showed maybe there.

You can find print screens to show that I’ve tried. And a link to the page were the news highlight is set. It only shows a big gap…

Thanks for your help. Only it is not jet working properly. Now there is also a white background in the back of the text block area with the title of the page. See link

I have tried both half of the code to see if one works on that part, but that doesn’t work and I would like to adjust it page by page 🙂

Can you have new look on it? What would you suggest if I add a new text block and want to set a background?

And can you also shine your light on the News highlight feature I mentioned?

Perfect, that works.

In the mean time, the website has moved to a new adres, just so you know 😉

One other thing after update: white background has disappeared on all the pages.
I had set the background in the text block settings, manually on all pages.
Hope there is a trick to get those back?

And a new challenge:
On my news page I want to use feature News Highlight/Focus, but nothing shows when I set it. Only blank space. I did set the query and tried several options with rows and columns.
I have tried the feature News Highlight/Focus before and then it worked perfectly fine.
Can you tell me if there is something I miss?

Now I use portfolio items on my news page but want to change to News items so I can show all kind of things.

I’m happy to tell that most issues are solved by the first and the last solution you gave.

There is only one thing left now.
Luckily I found the problem, hopefully you can find a solution 😉

The last problem:
Big gap between heading/logo and content of the page.

Before the update: Top padding first row set -120.
After update: changed in to 120 (so content dropped 240 in compare to before update)

Now: top padding set to 0.

Question: Is a minus number in the row settings not possible anymore? What can I do to get the content back up again?

Hi Radu,

Here you find the issues listed.

1. There is a white space in the background of the header. ISSUE is FIXED

2. The space between the content of the page and the header is bigger then before.
(see printscreen before 2 and after 2)

3. Some pages has a 3/4 + 1/4 column and now the content of the right column dropped down. (see printscreen before 3 and after 3)

4. When I create a new page the content in the left column also drops down.
See this test page and this portfolio item

So in general, things are spontaneously dropping down after update.

Can you help me to fix this?

Is this taking so long because of technical complications? Are you too busy? Am I on a waiting list?

The first notice I gave for this problem was three weeks ago. As you might understand this is starting to feel really frustrating and I’m not happy with this situation. I can’t make any moves at the moment, I will spare you the rest of the details on the side effects this is having. But every day I wait is costing me money…

Thanks for your reply.

I’ve set the background of the header from transparent to the picture and it works!
Only, I think that wasn’t the source of the issue because before it was doing fine the other way and the gap is not fixed.

I’ve tried the coding for the column and that doesn’t change. Also here, it was working fine without a background before so I assume the solution is a bit more technical?

To test it out, I’ve made an new page:

Now the left column is dropped down. No special settings.

The same happened when I made a new portfolio item yesterday:

Now all the white lines are back again. Did you change something after my last message?

I was just placing an image as a border cause that would be the most easiest. I thought. That worked but now all the thin white lines are back again…

If you want, you can put the lines like we had yesterday and I wil place the image line on every page.
Because then we are finished 🙂

Thanks for helping and don’t get me wrong but it was ok before the update…

Of course I have set the row settings with a border but because of the setting are now all borders zero, this does not appear.

It has nothing to do with the client, but these are really simple design setting which seem to make things highly complicated. Understand me, this is getting me frustrated too and I am very glad when these simple settings are just as they were before the update.

Second issue were the white lines that appear on every page while they are not in the settings.
I have now added the css you gave earlier in the quick css instead of the ftp and that works for the homepage. On the other pages there are still lines that needs to be gone, for example: http://martijnvanbraam.nl/blog/

The thick line under the heading needs to be there, the thin line above the footer appeared after the update.

Hi Radu,

Thanks for your help. Please notice that the last things appeared after the update: the white lines and the 5 columns which are not centered anymore.

I found ftp, copied the css file, added the things, saved and replaced it, but it is not working.

I was almost ready to deliver this site weeks ago, but now I still can’t…

Please help me only with this two points, the rest I will just leave behind. These two are essential for the design and were fine before the update.

Where can I find kleo-child/functions.php?
And wp-content/themes/kleo-child/style.css?

I only know the normal css.

About 2: In the beginning, before the update, I just had only a white line of a few pixels under the header and in between. Now, after the update, there are also small lines in between and above the footer.

To show, I have now removed all the white lines on the homepage that needed to be there. The ones that need to be gone are still there and I don’t understand where they come from.

And there is a point 4: The 5 columns you have helped me with are not any more centered after the update.

Thanks for your answer, but it is not taking me far.

1.
I might not understand you well… I don’t use the grid element on the blog/post page itself. The question is: I would like to see meta details on the blog/post page even when I use visual composer. See the print screens in the message before, is that possible?

2.
The extra borders were not there before the update.
I think something in the update refers to border behaviour?
I didn’t add anything to the css in relation to the borders. I’ve put in a printscreen of the css, maybe you can see if something is there?

3.
And if possible, is there a solution to change the purple lines in an other colour?
That shows on the overview blog/post page using kleo posts grid.

Please notice that I work for somebody else, who really really wants to release his site with the blog articles. I have to keep him on distance in all this time it takes… It would be a great big favour for me when we can make this all work in a short notice.

Hi there, wondering if there is any news or are things in progress?

To bring so more to table, I have a few problems after the website.

1. Lines appear which were not there before. See printscreens. To get a white line underneath the header I have set that line the column settings on every page. Only a few pixels of white on the topborder. Now it also shows a pixel of white on the bottom border. Even when I set the bottom to 0 pixels.

2. I had help from Radu to set a 5 column row in the centre (on the home page) which is not centered anymore.

Hope this is easy to solve…

But the question about the met details that are not showing is about the message it self.

The difference between post with composer and without composer

Is there a solution? Like a shortcode that I can put in a column so the details are there in the article too?

Thanks for all the help but it is all a bit too much…

Inserted the API but nothing happens. So checked the versions of the theme. Child theme says no version number and the main theme says 3.1.3.
But the child is the one being active.

I downloaded the new files from themeforest. Which file do I take and replace on the FTP?
(see printscreen) Or the whole kleo file?

Do I also need to choose a theme update as I can choose by theme options where I need to give the api and themeforest and back up?

I hope I’m not starting to irritate, I have one more problem that needs to be solved 🙂

I’m at the closure of this stage of the project, that’s why 😉

When I open the site on my mobile, the header background image doesn’t fill the entire header. I’ve found out that when I change the settings from ‘contain’ to ‘inherit’ or ‘cover’ it does fill the whole space but the problem then is that you don’t see the full picture but very enlarged. And the customer wants to see the detailed picture. Is there an other setting I need to set to get this done?
