That is a really good tip @gm713 🙂 I am on a Rackspace Startup account for my servers and they have enabled Varnish for caching, I am thinking it’s more than just a coincidence will see if I can exclude admin-ajax.php from varnish.
The tool I am using is http://newrelic.com/ and its pretty darn awesome.
Is 7th Queen available for hire for custom work? I have parted ways with my previous developers and could really use some assistance, would be great if the new Devs were also the creators of the Theme I am using
Could the issue be as simple s the fact that all the Ajax effects are cosmetic but that the content is actually all loaded immediately?
I am using New Relic to analyse performance and after 12hrs of having notifications on 0 the calls for
/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php?action=kleo_bp_notifications_refresh¤t=1 seem to have died down (i hope I am reading it right)But /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php is still under heavy load, anything else that could be calling on it?
I indeed used 60000 as the value for the last two days but it didn’t seem to help much.
Now it is at 0 and my server is not crashing anymore but it might also be due to the fact that there is very little traffic on Friday mornings.
I make sure to update Kleo within 24hrs of every new version so that is all good. Although I wonder if users watching my content (videos are 2-3 hours) would technically be on older versions of the page and therefore Theme code which would result in a long delay before I could see positive effects of any of the changes we have discussed.
Thanks Abe but I had already set it to 60 seconds. Last night I tried turning it off by setting it at 0 and this morning things seems better but I am not sure if they will last. Also it’s a feature I would much rather have on and working.
This would be most welcome, I was trying to add Bebas Neue in such a way that it is selectable from inside VC blocks and via the Theme settings but I see no way of doing it without modifying the parent theme, because theme options are a part of the theme framework and are in the parent theme. And there is no filter given in the parent theme to change the font option field.
I am not intentionally adding a container sorry I am just adding a section as per normal, I would love to use your fix but I am not sure where in the backend editor to change that setting
