Is that December 11 or November 12?

October 5, 2016 at 11:21 in reply to: Lightbox in RTMedia not working on media profile pictures #138258garrett800ParticipantRTMedia released a new update 4.1.7. I updated the plugin, but it didn’t fix the issue. Apparently, it’s happening on the Sweetdate demo site as well (See link in my previous post).
garrett800ParticipantI have figured this out on my own. I found a plugin that allows you to widgetize menu items. It worked perfectly, by using this plugin I was able to make my search box appear in my menu area (See screen shot).
I’m still wondering why in this theme there are only widgets available for the footer area and nowhere else. It would really make sense to have some other widget areas so people can place items on other areas of the page.

garrett800ParticipantSounds good, I will just leave all of the login info the same in case they need to get in.
garrett800ParticipantI’ve already done that twice. The second time I downloaded a new install of child and parent from Themeforest and installed them on my WordPress. I’m not sure how doing it a third time will work.
garrett800ParticipantI did every single thing you suggested. Disabled all plugins except for Buddypress, bbpress, and rtmedia. Search form and image still did not show up. Then with all the plugins still disabled, I uninstalled both the Sweedate parent and child themes, then re-installed them from a fresh download from Themeforest. Still nothing.
I thought it might be something with the home page itself, so I messed with some of the settings on the page editor but still nothing.
I have since re-enabled all the plugins and my custom settings. All of this took a couple hours, but still no results at all to get the search form and my image to re-appear. It doesn’t make sense because I did a fresh install and all the plugins were disabled.
I’m out of ideas. 🙁
garrett800ParticipantNo, there is no custom code that was added. The search form and my banner pic just disappeared. However, I did notice that the issue happened after I updated PM Pro plugin. So I disabled PM Pro plugin, but they still didn’t come back. So I don’t know if it was something in the PM Pro update that caused it, or if that was just coincidental that they happened at the same time. So this is still an issue. Were you able to see anything by logging into my WP admin?
garrett800ParticipantDid a little troubleshooting, found that PM Pro is causing an issue and not allowing me to edit pages and also I’m not able to click buttons to edit items while on page edit screen (‘media’, ‘display settings’, ‘header settings’ buttons). However when I disable PM Pro plugin, then I can edit pages again and buttons function.
I was able to hide the title on the page, but nothing else is fixed even after disabling PM Pro and rebooting my server. I disabled all plugins one by one and found the only one causing issues is PM Pro, but I have to have it and just paid $200 for a membership so not sure what to do.
And I still have the issues of the home page search form and my background image not showing on the home page. Still cannot figure out why this is happening after several hours of troubleshooting. 🙁
garrett800ParticipantDo you know if using that ‘send to all users’ feature sends a notification email to all the users? I would assume it does, because it is just the same as a private message right?
But by now I’ve learned to assume nothing when it comes to WordPress, so that’s why I ask.
garrett800ParticipantI’ll tell you the other solution I had – Use MailPoet (my email plugin) to send out an email to all subscribers. With that, you can drip them out at a certain number per hour, say 150 per hour, until they are all sent.
garrett800ParticipantSaw that, but the other question is will they all get an email too? That sudden flow of thousands of emails at one time could bog down my server (I’m on VPS, not shared).
garrett800ParticipantI resolved the issue by replacing the functions.php file via FTP. Why is it that when I try to modify the functions.php file in any way this always happens?
garrett800ParticipantI created and uploaded the folder to my server via FTP, then copied and edited the php file as you suggested, and it worked perfectly. Thanks!
garrett800ParticipantThanks Laura. I tried searching plugins with the name ‘buddypress menu’ or ‘bp menu’ but found nothing. Is there another name for it?
garrett800ParticipantAlso, when I add these to my main menu, of course I want them visible only to logged in members. Thanks!
July 6, 2016 at 02:54 in reply to: How to Hide User Profile Page When User Checks Messages, Notifications, or Activity #128182garrett800ParticipantMay I suggest that this issue be resolved in the next Sweetdate theme update? It is a very annoying issue for users. Also, this issue has received the most votes in the ‘Feature Requests’ category HERE
It would be great if this could be fixed in the next update. It is basically my only issue with the theme, everything else has worked great for me. Thank you.
garrett800ParticipantOne of the posts earlier said this is the standard Buddypress profile page. Can anyone confirm that? If so, maybe we are barking up the wrong tree and should be contacting Buddypress to fix this.
garrett800Participantvinz98, I agree. This really needs to be changed soon. I’m not a developer by any means, but it doesn’t seem like a very difficult thing to make right. I have had some of my members tell me directly in comments that they don’t like the profile page and it is very hard to use. I would bet I’m losing some members over this.
Sweetdate developers please please work on a better solution, this should be a high priority for the next version update!
garrett800ParticipantSeems ok now. I haven’t been able to replicate the issue for quite a while. I’m not sure if it was something with my host that was resolved or what. Possibly upgrading to the recent theme version and/or the most recent WordPress version fixed it. The world may never know….
garrett800ParticipantAlso, in your own screen shot it actually happened. You can see the carousel is only showing 2 members, and it looks like the text is gone from your screen shot as well.
Not even sure where to start on troubleshooting this.
garrett800ParticipantIt is happening again in Firefox and Chrome both, unfortunately. See screen shot. The latest members carousel does not move and the main area where the text is supposed to be is blank white. It’s as if that part is not loading. Sometimes it does and then other times it doesn’t. Still not sure why this is happening randomly.

Since then, it seems like the issue has disappeared. I will keep you posted if it returns again, but it seems like this action might have resolved the problem.
