I know, that’s not the problem.
…if I want to create templates (Visual Composer/Template), the VC button does not show up in the regular template wp editor…screenshot attached

The main thing I want to get to work is if I want to create templates (Visual Composer/Template), the VC button does not show up in the regular template wp editor like it does in tutorial videos and on posts and pages. Since I’m a WP newbie as you probably have noticed π I’m pretty much relying on the VC.
Thanks for your time,
MichaelamaxlevelParticipantVery good. Thanks.
I also have another issue:
Unlike on all pages, posts, WooCommerce product pages and all other custom post types I can’t see the VC Button on the Templatera Templates, which I would need to create templates. I contacted the Visual Composer/wpbakery people and they replied with the following:
“The product license at your end is disabled by the theme author using vc_set_as_theme function.
The issue is because there is an inbuilt version of Visual Composer (or the related code) present in your theme which is overriding the standalone plugin version and hence causing the issue. You will have to get rid of it. I would advise you to do so with the help of theme author, otherwise you might loose the extra elements added by him. Once this is done, you can install the standalone plugin and it will work fine. Kindly check.”Also the VC button is missing in the WooTabs on the product pages where I would need to place Templatera Templates too.
Could you please help me with that?
Thanks,
MichaelamaxlevelParticipantHello,
I’m still getting the same notification. Is the new Kleo released already?
A quick update would be great. Thanks,
MichaelamaxlevelParticipantHaha, you might have a point there π
I will leave them as they are for the moment and do the more urgent things
Have many thanks and a nice day!maxlevelParticipantThanks a lot for your time, it worked perfectly!
Now I would only need to know how to get rid of the headlines inside the standard WooCommerce tabs like “Product Description”, “Additional Info” or “21 reviews for When weβre together β Album CD”, because the tabs are named accordingly already. Very likely there’s a quick fix for that as well but as a newbie I’m groping in the dark …maxlevelParticipant#sharmstr
Btw, How did you find out all the functions of the Kleo theme?
Did you go through all the shortcodes of VC or any other way to get that down as fast as possible?
Any suggestion is much appreciated πmaxlevelParticipantWOW! WOW! WOW!
That is GREAT news.
These shortcodes can do even more than what I was asking for!
Maybe I should feel bad about not having found out by myself but I can’t really.
I already asked that before in this post:
https://archived.seventhqueen.com/forums/topic/additional-content-in-category-pages-possible
You (who else? ;-)) answered that post at that time with:
There is no shortcode, but the links youβve supplied explain how to do it π
I really don’t post that that here to make you wrong in any way but to explain how important a good documentation would be. Maybe you found out later or just didn’t think aboput it at the time.
These are all huge selling points for the KLEO theme that the developers do not promote enough i.m.h.o. because most of the features are not really published and buried deep down in the theme.
The Internet is full of questions how to make a second or third blog on a WP site. Themes like Kleo would be the answer but instead you find cumbersome “solutions” of how to work with category pages.
#sharmstr:
Seems like you do most of the work on this support forum.
I hope you get some kind of compensation for your work. You’re awesome!maxlevelParticipantI would also be ineterested in that feature, also because I might want to offer a possibility for the user to switch between two styling options. Is there no way to get that widget?
The other question would be if there is any way to store a styling and the ability to reload it later?
maxlevelParticipantIt’s good to have somebody around that already went through most of the problems. So thank you for being there and answering all the questions. Part of the problem is probably that the WP-platform develops much faster than anybody would have reasonably expected and therefore documentation lags always a lot behind. It would be helpful though when the theme developres would clearly state what the theme is doing or adding to standard WP so one would not have to change themes all the time to find out.
maxlevelParticipantThank you for the tip. Yes, I could isolate the plugin. It’s called “BuddyPress for Visual Composer” and the developer already works on an update as you can read here:
http://codecanyon.net/item/buddypress-for-visual-composer/10948126/comments?page=1&filter=all#comment_10455991maxlevelParticipantThank you very much for this information. I would have spent quite a while finding out that it doesn’t take the video from a video player or from an embedded video for the thumbnail. The main problem I have with the theme is that if you come from an entirely different platform like Magento, Joomla or Drupal to WP you just find ridiculously little documentation about how all the features are supposed to work and even where to find them.
On the other hand the forum seems to work pretty well so maybe the theme developers don’t see the urgency to make a proper documentation. Nevertheless I hope it will come at some point because importing demo content just to find out how things work is a bit of a cumbersome way to explore the possibilities and feels more like reverse engineering than using a theme.
maxlevelParticipantI have enabled “get featured image from content” in theme options but it didn’t show up. I then just found out that it totally depends on the kind of post format chosen for a post. If there is an image embedded within the post the default icon for the post format disappears and nothing shows instead on category pages for the post formats Audio, Video and Gallery. The picture appears as normal embedded picture for the post formats Quote and Link. It appears with the default icon for post format aside and as thumbnail for post formats standard and image. I could find no description of this behaviour somewhere. Is there a manual or help section where I could find such information without having to check out all the options by trial&error?
In Theme General Settings on Page/Post level I can only set “show media on post page” as far as I’ve seen related to featured image.

Especially all the Buddypress functionality is a little bit overwhelming, especially If you are new to it and don’t know yet exactly what comes from WordPress itself, what from Buddypress and what part comes from the Theme.

maxlevelParticipantIsn’t that the feature you can see in the picture below?
You can already set default group and profile pictures.
Or did I miss the point completely?Attachments:
