I’d like add that I’ve also used the top menu in the past. The problem is some of my members have difficulty seeing the menu as a whole and certain drop down elements. These members have sent me a couple of screenshots of what they’re experiencing. I’d like to avoid using the top menu all together.
d_enajeticParticipantThanks, Laura. I actually found that post last night. I’ve already implemented some of those steps.
Much appreciated.
d_enajeticParticipantFalse alarm. I figured out it’s the Heartbeat. I was getting very high CPU usage and my host suggested I shut it off. Do you have any suggestions and tutorials on how to reduce Javascript and CPU usage?
d_enajeticParticipantBTW, did you remove the upload button on the activity stream? I don’t have it anymore.
d_enajeticParticipantHello Again,
I noticed after adding the code that Load More and Reply button stopped working. I’m not 100% sure this is the cause but it definitely started after we did this. Your help is great appreciated. BTW, the credentials are still valid if needed. Thanks
d_enajeticParticipantHi Chill,
I believe you’re speaking on the Buddypress aspect of Kleo, which (I could be wrong) the issue I was having doesn’t apply. Hopefully the good folks of Seventh Queen will get your sorted shortly.d_enajeticParticipantAbe,
That fixed it! I understand what you’re saying but it didn’t show up until after the update. Once two of those hit the activity stream, it REALLY breaks things. Luckily, that’s resolved now. Can I suggest adding that to the future editions of the theme to prevent other people losing their sanity like I did? You’re awesome, sir. Thanks for you help.
d_enajeticParticipantNo, this issue isn’t resolved. After working for a couple of days, VC is back to screwing up my site. You all have a real issue with that component as indicated by the number of other threads with Visual Composer or WordPress 4.5 in the subject line. What’s even more frustrating are the number of threads I can’t read. For some weird reason, every time I click on one of those threads, I can’t read them. I get “You can’t reply this topic”. One of those threads could have the key to solving my issue, but I’ll never know.
Extremely Frustrated
d_enajeticParticipantAfter hours of trying to figure out what’s going on, somehow it fixed itself. I have no idea what happened and I’m done questioning it. This thread is resolved.
d_enajeticParticipantHi Abe,
For the record Radu tried to assist me the Thumbnail situation and wasn’t able to fix it. He can give you his side of the story. But I can tell you exactly what was wrong with Buddypress. In the Activity feed 1. If you had a video player in your post, you would see a black box with the YouTube link at the bottom left corner and the featured thumbnail underneath. So it would take up 2 spaces for one post. 2. Towards the bottom of the feed where there would normally be a “read more” link. The link was no longer there and the 2 posts before that would be HUGE. Taking up the entire width of the site.#1 was happening before the latest BP update a couple days ago. #2 began after the update. Once VC was deactivated, the issue went away. That’s when I rolled everything back. Again, Radu can confirm the steps we took. Something is definitely wrong with VC and the latest versions of Kleo & BP… at least in my case.
d_enajeticParticipantHi Radu,
I couldn’t take it anymore and rolled back to the 3.1.3 release. Everything works fine now. From the looks of it, it’s not on you, it’s definitely something with VC because it’s screwing up my Buddypress installation as well. I’ll stay on this version until there’s an update that’s flaweless. Thanks for all of your help.
d_enajeticParticipantTo add to that info, the test (dummy) image is not showing in the VC Grid Builder either.
d_enajeticParticipantSo basically you’re telling me that VC custom templates don’t work anymore. If I switch to one of the default templates, they work, but I don’t care for their look. I even built a new template to see if it works, but no luck. I’ve also deactivated the theme and all of it’s plugins, re-uploaded and reactivated them, but nothing has changed. My site has been built around these custom templates that no longer work after the upgrade. Changing the template is simply not the answer.
The same issues affects a site I’m building for a client. (yes he has his own license) I’d really appreciate a solution to this.
d_enajeticParticipantI just re-enabled everything and made the site public again. If needed, you have my permission to go in and put it in maintenance mode. I’m already logged in.
d_enajeticParticipantHi Radu,
Not sure why it was on, because everything is handled through Cloudflare. I’ve turned it off, cleared the cache and nothing has changed.d_enajeticParticipantHi Radu,
I went through my control panel and found the uploads folder. There is a 2016 folder as well as other years dating back to 2012. All were set to 755. I changed the 2016 & 2015 to 777, but nothing has changed. I even uploaded a new pic in hopes it would trigger it, but nothing happens. Any other suggestions?d_enajeticParticipantI’m having the same issues. Just replying to follow and hopefully see a solution.
Like Unimagined, the thumbnails from all of my posts disappeared after the update. In case it needs to be said, they’re missing in my custom VC Post Grid.

I wasn’t speaking on a Revolution slider. I used the term Spinner because that’s what it’s called IN the Revolution Slider. I’m speaking on the “spinner” that shows when a VC element is loading in the Kleo Theme. As you saw on those pages, I have Custom Post Grids installed. When you load the page the “spinner” for the Post Grid normally shows while it’s loading the data for that grid. Since I’ve change the color of the theme, I can longer see it and would like to edit the color if possible. That’s all.d_enajeticParticipantHi Radu,
Apologies for the delay. I was in the process of finishing the new site design then relaunching when you responded. The site was on a complete lockdown. Now that I’ve relaunched, I did find a work around. If you’re using a custom Post Grid design and would like to kill the animation, the work around is using Pagination instead of Lazy Loading, etc. In the Pagination options the animation is set to none by default. That kills it perfectly and speeds up the page loading. Thanks again to you Andrei for the assistance. Much appreciated.
d_enajeticParticipantHi again, Andrei. I’m familiar with creating and editing using the Grid Builder and unfortunately, it’s still not working. The blocks say no animation, but it still animates. I’ve cleared my caches and even installed kleo on a test site where no other plugins are active only to have no change. Even when I change the animation type, it’s still doing the same default scale (zoom in) animation. Is there anyway to stop this?
d_enajeticParticipantHello again,
One last question. Is there a way to disable the animation in the VC elements? Mainly the Post Grid. Thanks
d_enajeticParticipantThanks for the response, Andrei. I actually spent a lot of the day optimizing my site and databases. Now that my site speed has greatly improved, I see it working, but only in certain cases (pages). I’m in the process of redesigning my site using different methods & tools within Kleo and VC. I think I’ll be ok, but I’ll report back for more assistance if needed.
Many thanks to you and Radu for the help.
Thanks,
Tasherred_enajeticParticipantThanks Radu,
Unfortunately, it’s not working. I’ve tried on a couple of sites I’m working on and there’s no change.d_enajeticParticipantHi Radu,
I know this is an old topic, but I’d be interested in trying the code to disable animation for the entire site.d_enajeticParticipantApologies Radu,
I just noticed it only cuts off the thumbnail. The actually video plays fine. I wonder if there’s a fix for the thumbnail.d_enajeticParticipantHi again, Radu.
That is the correct class (assuming that the proper term), but it cuts off or hides about 25% of the window. Maybe I asked for the wrong thing. What I’d prefer is if the player window take up only 1024px but still be fully visible. If you could assist me with that, I’d greatly appreciate it.d_enajeticParticipantHi Radu,
Thanks for the response. I believe I have the latest version of Kleo and the other plugins. I’ll verify the version, try your fix, then report back.Much appreciated
d_enajeticParticipantOK, for anyone that has issues with renaming Tabs and having them not work properly afterwards, the answer is very simple. So simple, it’s absolutely infuriating that I didn’t figure it out sooner and that no one else has posted it.
There’s Tab Names then Tab IDs.
1. Tab names can be renamed to pretty much anything: Tab 1, Option 2, etc.
2. Tab IDs have to be named in a specific manner. If you have multiple words you have to use hyphens between each word: Tab-1, Option-2, Number-3. They will not work if you name them in this manner: Tab 1, Option 2, etc. Also make sure you don’t have any spaces after your final word. Trust me, it happens.Enjoy
d_enajeticParticipantHey Laura,
It took me while, but I figured it out. It’s the Section ID. If you rename it, that screws up everything. I see there’s a note that says “make sure it is unique and valid according to w3c specification” but the link gives me an Error 400. If I knew what the rules are for renaming that would help out greatly. Thanks for your assistance. It’s greatly appreciated.
