Hello, my post was for you 🙂
You can change that text using Loco Transate plugin, as its a translation plugin it allows you to change any string.
As i said “Just need to go to Loco Translate, edit the language of the theme or a plugin, click SYNC and search for the string, then “translate” (change) it”
For example find the word Search and add below the word Find, now search will show as Find

Hello, the child theme just changes the theme options because you did not set it up, so go to the main theme, copy theme options at the export section, switch to child theme and import the settings. All is at theme options.
You need to use the child theme for security reasons as your changes could be lost in a theme update

2. As is a repeated issue, maybe its related to a custom code or plugin, try to use the main theme to se if they disappear and also deactivate some plugins.

Hello, at Theme Options you can select the layout of buddypress pages, and all buddypress pages will use the same sidebar.
I suggest to use a widget visibility plugin that can hide the buddypress plugins for normal pages and show them just in buddypress pages.
