2. Presentation text on Members Page. I attach you a printscreen. I made a red circle of the text I refer to.

Where exactly do the users fill in this presentation text? And where exactly do I open that function?

3. I am having an issue…..Only one out of three Member Levels shows…?? I had this issue once before I remember…. I didn’t do any changes or so….all of a sudden only one of them were showing. Then I copied them and and removed the originals. Then it worked properly. But after a while they dissapearad again.
Could you please look into it??

4. As you might remember I am doing the site from start at a subdomain to make the profile pic work.
As I started doing the Loco Translation at the main-site, I continued there, and guess I can download the .mo and .po files and upload them to the subdomain, right??
And then move the site from subdomain to maindomain..
Or should I upload the .mo and .po files to the main domain after tranfering the site??

I am redoing my site and importing step by step.
Right now I am redoing my Profile Fields as I couldn’t find any plugin which could handle export/import of Profile fields.

A question to that…
After each field there is a checkbox with the text “Default Value”. What is it for? Can you explaín how and for what I use that?
On the right side of the fields-section it says: “Autolink
On user profiles, link this field to a search of the Members directory, using the field value as a search term.
Autolink status for this field”
Could you please explain “using the field value as a search term.”?

Hello Radu,
I have now created a another subdomain, and importing step by step from maindomain, along that I check Profile Photo function for every step I do.

SweetDate is supposed to come with over 40 inner pages. Only pages I can see in WP-ADMIN > PAGES are Activity page, Members Page and Sample Page. I can’t find the pages in the download folder either. How come? Is there anything I need to do?
I saw somewhere something I need to do to load them into PAGES, but I don’t remember where…??

Or can I import pages from main domain? HOw?

The content in the folder looks a lot different from my previous. I can’t find child theme in it, nor the WordPress folder, that I have in the previous SweetDate folder, or do I need to extract if before uploading it to wp-admin??

Hi Radu!
This is getting really crazy! So, I right now discovered that my parent theme and not child theme was activated! Also 3 plugins were activated that I have not activated; rtMedia, bbPress and WooCommerce. So now I deleted them completely. Anyway I activated ChildTheme…and POFF, my site broke AGAIN!!! Same thing happened some weeks ago! I am sooooooo, tired of this (sorry) shit that is happening to me ALL the f…cken time!

Anyway!!!!! I NEEEEEED a fresh SweetDate! AND PLEASE, SEE TO THAT I GET A FRESCH DOWNLOAD FOLDER ON MY MAIL!!!
I did find my ThemeForest Account:

But there is no SweetDate Download there. And everywhere else there is this 57 dollar or something download button, that doesn’t interest me, as I already payed once.

My new host made your suggestion to move my dB, etc to my Testdomain, but then profile pic stoppad working. They moved my theme as well…I guess they shouldn’t hade done that.

But I am really worried about one thing3. I guess you are aware of all bugs/issues I have had since theme installation in January. Things you guys and my host have by time resolved. This has been more than frustrating and have taken a lot of unnecessary time for both you and me.

Even though profile pic upload works on the subdomain….I saw other same issues not working, that I had with maindomain at the start. For example…..I had no Register Page and no Activity Page….and they were missing even now in the new installation. In the matter of fact, I only have About, Activity and Members pages. So maybe ALL issues will repeat…And I cannot handle that without a nervous breakdown – beleive me, he he.

Actually I think something is wrong with my SweetDate download directory. For example: There are TWO child themes. And in the childtheme zip file there is another child theme. There is also supposed to be a guide, which I can’t find, and there is no BuddyPress.
So, if I follow your suggestions….Do you think I can get all these issues again???

My host hasn’t managed to restore my site YET since I asked them yesterday!!! So I wonder how they will manage to do your suggestions above. I feel very unsecure right now…and I can’t afford to loose more time and I can defenitely not afford more trouble on this. So I am thinking about changing host afterall…

1, Well, now I have made a fresh install of wp, SweetDate and BuddyPress on a subdomain!
RESULT: Upload profile pic works fine!

2. So, I reinstalled BuddyPress!
RESULT: Upload profile pic = not function, no such button
+ All my site got f…cked up!! (sorry) See my attached screenshots.

3. Anyway, so I tried to Restore my database….which didn’t work, so I have put the technicians on it.

SO, TO SUM IT ALL…..PROFILE PIC UPLOAD WORK ON A FRESH INSTALL OF WP+THEME+BP BUT NOT ON MY MAIN DOMAIN :-(….Meaning nothing wrong with host….but om ny site…..:-(……What shall we do?

– It didn’t work. So in css and not in functions.php?
– Can you have a look at the code again, and see if it’s correct..? The code for right sidebar search form, I got from Laura, is in functions.php.
If you have a code for left side bar search form, it would make me even happier :-).

Thank you so much Radu, for taking your time for good explanation. I think I have done all that, but I will try again….Laura said something about downloading PO or MO and then upload it….I haven’t done that…so I’ll try that.

Anyway, I just want to say that I have now reinstalled my theme!!
SUCCESSES AFTER REINSTALLATION:
– Quick Navigation Bar finally shows, wohoooooo :-)!!
– Color settings in Theme Options finally seem to work, wohooooo!! 🙂

ISSUES NOT FIXED BY REINSTALLATION:
– Footer menu still missing
– “Upload profile photo” still missing. “Change profile pic” still directs to 404-page.
– Carousel is still there above the search form ….How can I get rid of that?

QUESTIONS:
– Quick Navigation Bar shows both genders….How can I do settings to show only the gender member is interested in??
– Will the search engines find the text on the register form??

Hi Laura,
I think everything went wrong from start. I got help installing everything by a technician at my hosting, and I trusted him.

I got really confused, ’cause nothing looked like the SweetDate Theme demo. But I thought I was the one who didn’t understand.

Then after many questions back and forth you finally realized that my theme was installed in the wrong way, and you fixed it for me, and I could see the whole theme finally. And from there I could start to work a bit better, till I realized that my child theme wasn’t installed, so I installed it…..And then after some more time….it crashed, and my technician had to turn my child theme off.

Then someone (?) had managed to turn it on again without crashing.

So I did a lot of work without having child theme installed, but only things I changed in Editor, was language-stuff within ” ” plus Register Form. Nothing else. Well, I removed the code for Carousel on startpage, Members online and TV commercial button but I think that was in PAGES.
Anyway, I haven’t changed anything without saving the original code into separate text files.

Did I tell you that my translations in Loco Translate don’t work? Nothing gets translated….:-(

Just to make it clear for me, reinstalling theme will not change anything in what I have edited in PAGES, right?

4 QUICK PROFILE NAVIGATION issue
I only would like to have breadcrumb only on profile page, thanks, as I said, for the use of the navigation bar. BUT FIRST THING IS TO MAKE THE QUICK PROFILE NAVIGATION EXIST! IT DOESN’T SHOW AT MY PROFILE PAGE! So if we can resolve that asap, please.
I repeat this question: Should it show in members own profile or when they look into someone elses profile?

The other day my wp-admin crasched…couldnt enter it….Only grey blank page.
So I had to contact the technicians at my host. They sad something was wrong with my theme, and that he had to deactivate it. If I would activate it again it would crasch. Anyway…..he worked on the issue a bit more, and said that I could continue…everything was fine.

Today I discovered that my child theme was deactivated, and realized that the technicians might had forgot to reactivate it. So I activated it, and then BOOOOM – grey blank page AGAIN. So something is apparently very wrong with my child theme. Only codes I have put there are codes I got from you….as far as I can think of. Oh, I changed position (tried to)of Register Form….that’s all. And that was in a code I got from you to make Register form a little transparent…

Anyway…Now I talked to the technicians again…They could activate my theme again, but my child theme doesn’t work to activate. The techncians asked me to share the following loggs with you:

CANNOT UPLOAD PROFILE PIC
I don’t need album either. I think Buddypress is enough for me, except that I would like to have the possiblities to upload profile pic, which doesn’t work. So I have activated rtMedia again, but still I get to a 404-page when trying to upload profile pic. Can you look into it, please asap?

I tried a vertical search form on Members Page as we discussed, but I got this Post Carousel thing, so I changed back to Horizontal instead. What is that carousel for?? How can I remove it?
Anyway, now I have realized I want a searh form in profile area, and the only option there is vertical search form as it seems, which means I cannot have a horiontal search form at Members Page, right?

5. “I enabled Age Range Field…but still I can’t see any Looking for age between___and____.” 5- You need to add it to the search form, just check it at Sweetdate > Buddypress
– Please specify “it”….I have checked all fields in ThemeOptions > Buddypress except Select Numerical Field, as I don’t get that on at all. Anyway there is no choice for age there, anyway. So please specify exact name of field that I should check for this option.

6. NO MATCHING RESULTS AT MEMBERS PAGE
Okej, I see. So if I have no profile pics and no matchin results in Members Page, then that page is pretty unuseful, right? As long as I get QuickProfileNavigation bar to work in profiles?
