Thank you Laura, any help would be very appreciated 🙂
It is very confusing – have tried updating that particular function with the one from the updated kleo bp functions file, and nothing. And I also checked the hidden variables on that form, on your demo version. And it all looks the same as what we have. I don’t understand why that error is kicking in. It’s annoying because our members can’t easily comment and reply on walls.
AdamKParticipantHi Laura
yes I will post credentials after.
Very important, please, please do not update anything on the site any update can kill the site we have to be very careful.
I have tracked the problem down to function bp_legacy_theme_new_activity_comment in buddypress-functions.php under Kleo Buddypress. On line 1012:
if ( is_wp_error( $comment_id ) ) {
exit( ‘-1<p>Sorry we are fixing the comment bug now.</p>‘ );
}I have doctored the code to test this you can see this happening on the site if you try to reply to an activity wall post. Before I hard coded an error in there, it was outputting no text, just the red div.
AdamKParticipantHi Guys
I have tried with a different theme and it’s still happening so we know it is not Kleo.
Still this is a pain in the ass – if you have any suggestions it would be great many thanks.
I have tried disabling rtMedia, upgrading all individual scripts with some connection to that comment form – I tried to upgrade Buddypress but it just kills the site so I can’t do it that way 🙁
AdamKParticipantHi
thats great thanks for your assistance.
I don’t suppose there are any other parts of the theme that you can recommend disabling for performance? I have turned off sitewide animations already, anything else please let me know and I will try it thanks.

any update with this one?
Many thanks.
November 27, 2018 at 13:08 in reply to: Activity Wall media uploads carousel not working properly #214220AdamKParticipantAt least you are not crap like Cometchat, who insist that since they can’t see a bug on their own servers, that it cannot exist 🙂
Thanks please let me know.
Is it ok to turn the plugins back on now so I can continue? Or, I could limit it to a couple plugins and work on those?
November 25, 2018 at 12:40 in reply to: Activity Wall media uploads carousel not working properly #214089AdamKParticipantOk I have purged Cloudflare and disabled it for this site.
November 25, 2018 at 12:28 in reply to: Activity Wall media uploads carousel not working properly #214086AdamKParticipantOk I will stay off the site for the rest of the day it’s getting late here anyway. I will take a look tomorrow thanks.
November 25, 2018 at 12:27 in reply to: Activity wall media overlapping activity reactions popup #214085AdamKParticipantHi
that’s great thanks for looking at that so quick.
I have moved that CSS out of the child css and moved it into the appearance > custom css area with the rest of our custom css. That still seems to work ok.

ok I have disabled all plugins except Buddypress and rtMedia. I have cleared my entire cache, and this is still happening. It happens in Chrome, Opera and FF.
I have also disabled the maintenance page plugin, so you can more easily see the problem. I will put a link below so you can see an example.
November 25, 2018 at 10:42 in reply to: Activity wall media overlapping activity reactions popup #214068AdamKParticipantPS – this only happens on video uploads, the small media player div is overlapping. Other media such as youtube, images etc, are working ok with activity reactions.

I did, it was the performance setting that breaks it. You can test it yourselves.
I will check out super cache plugin thanks.
AdamKParticipantAnd here is a capture of the disappearing / reappearing lightbox navigation issue…

yes, it is the custom CSS. Custom CSS provided to me by yourselves, to resolve other formatting issues with GIFS.
.activity .rtmedia-item-thumbnail{
padding: 0 10px 0 10px !important;
height: 150px !important;
}
.activity .rtmedia-list-item {
width: 275px !important;
}
.activity .rtmedia-item-title {
width: 150px !important;
overflow:hidden !important;
}So, what would be preferable, and demonstrate some kind of commitment to support – instead of telling me that the CSS you provided then screws up other formatting issues – would be to actually spend 5 minutes to examine the custom CSS, and provide me with a solution that actually works.
Telling me the CSS you have provided me previously is flawed, without any substantial solutions beyond that, is about as much use to me as a kick in the testicles.
I would actually prefer a different support staff deal with my support issues in future, since you Radu have a long track record of offering little to no helpful assistance whatsoever.
Solutions please, not excuses, swerves, or any other method you have up your sleeve for avoiding doing your job.
Thanks for the assistance I look forward to someone at 7th queen providing for this issue in due course.
August 10, 2017 at 04:04 in reply to: Other media (video) still overlapping on activity wall #170139AdamKParticipantHi
no, output of images, gifs etc we have gotten formatted correctly. As specified in the original post, it is multiple video uploads posts that is the problem. Please try uploading 5 mp4 clips and you will see them all bunched together and overlapping. I have set out several test examples of media upload on that test profile page so you can tinker with the CSS and see if it has any knock on effect to other media types.
Just needs a bit of CSS I’m sure.
August 7, 2017 at 08:17 in reply to: xProfile Field description repeated after latest BP update #169840AdamKParticipantDon’t worry I hacked the edit profile area and the duplicate descriptions is gone now. 🙂
August 7, 2017 at 08:12 in reply to: xProfile Field description repeated after latest BP update #169838AdamKParticipantYes we had to do a new clone of the live site.
Uh, annoyingly even though we clone the whole site in every way, now the duplicate descriptions are not showing on the test site 🙁
I can show you on the live site, but maybe it is not to your taste.
AdamKParticipantHi
yes sorry we had to do a quick rebuild and clone of the live site. Some of the bugs were not duplicating on the test site.
Please look now, I will post credentials private in next post, thanks.
AdamKParticipantHi Laura 🙂
that will be great thank you.
While you are here, would it please be possible to get in contact with your support manager about a matter? Probably better to email your manager than post on here. I would very much appreciate it if you could ask your support manager to drop me a quick email. I believe it will be beneficial to your operation.
Many thanks.
AdamKParticipantSorry forgot the screen shot…

hehe yes I was just saying 🙂 But yes, it is a very minor tweak and I hope you can add that to a future update sometime.
Many thanks.
AdamKParticipantHi Laura
I spoke too soon 🙁
Unfortunately the rtmedia-list-item is used in other places, and the css I did is messing with those other areas (e.g. media tab view).
I am not great at css, would it be possible to help me with a bit of css to better target the rtmedia-list-item on the activity page and not other places?
Hope you can help 🙂
AdamKParticipantHi
I messaged rtMedia they said that this bug was fixed in the latest 4.4.2 update – so yes it is an rtMedia problem 🙂
Thanks for your assistance.
AdamKParticipantHi
yes on your demo it’s working. And it’s not working on our site for all themes. I think this is an rtMedia problem.
Can you tell me what version of rtMedia you are running? 4.4.2 version killed all our navigation for some reason, I am waiting for the next version to release.
AdamKParticipantHi Radu
come on. I can’t put a notice ‘please wait X seconds before clicking / unclicking the box because it’s ajax’.
It’s a usability issue.
It’s also a form, right? Why do you need ajax on a tickbox? Why can’t you just use the ajax when you submit the form?
AdamKParticipantHi Laura
thanks for the css.
That one seemed to break the autoslide animation though, not sure why.
In the end I went with this, it seems to work.
.rtmedia-item-thumbnail{
padding: 0 10px 0 10px !important;
height: 150px !important;
}.rtmedia-list-item {
width: 275px !important;
}.rtmedia-item-title {
width: 150px !important;
overflow:hidden !important;
}Thanks for your assistance 🙂
AdamKParticipantHi Laura
sorry I spoke too soon 🙂
So – the gifs are now perfect.
Unfortunately the non-gifs image spacing has gone a little bit screwy. Now the normal images are overlapping a bit.
Have you got a bit more css for me?
Many thanks 🙂
