Ok this is the third reinstall of the Kleo theme and I am still getting the same issue with the media controls on the first play. See attached.

Please log into the site (details below), go to MEDIA under user profile and check the video yourself. Or feel free to upload a video clip and see it happening.

Please advise.

Okay I have reinstalled the site / theme, with the latest version of rtMedia and the activity post options are still missing.

This includes the post button, so it’s not actually possible to post anything on the wall at all at this stage.

Cairy is also having the same problem. 🙂

You can see this happening on my site, details posted previously (I just changed it to https instead).

Please let us know how to fix this, though I’m guessing this might require a theme update.

since this post I have reinstalled the theme and find this issue still present. Please see attached screenshots.

You can see this happening yourself if you go to the MEDIA library using the URL/Login I will post below, and click the video there. You will see the video controls are missing on the first play.

Please look into this.

The privacy settings and Post Update are also missing.

I just restored to a backup prior to the update, to make 100% it was the rtMedia update that caused the problem. Prior to the update the various update options / buttons are present.

After update everything under the post box is gone. Please see attached.

don’t worry I think I figured out how to do it:

}

.icon-spin6 {
color: black !important;
}

That seems to do the trick. Hopefully that won’t screw anything else up.

ps it would be good if it’s possible to change the color of the ‘searching’ rotating circle thing in the search box too thanks.

never mind, after waiting 9 days for support on this matter, with no idea if I was ever going to get any support at all, I had no choice but wipe and reinstall the site a third time.

as I explained in the first email – and provided screenshots for – I have tried with a different theme (Twenty Seventeen) and the controls are present and working. And they are white.

In Kleo, the controls are either missing, or the control buttons are black so you can hardly see them.

if you are talking about the style.css for the child theme under Appearance > Editor (or opening the style.css file directly) those are the custom styles as far as I can see and I have removed all custom styles trying to get this to work, so those files are empty. On both Kleo and Kleo child.

Yes I have tried this with all plugins disabled apart from the default plugins that come with the theme, as mentioned on the 30th.

Please can you actually have a look at the test site and let me know what is causing this because this is the second time it has happened with this theme. I am not so interested whether it has happened with other customers, I only know it is happening with me.

any update on this support query? It’s been 4 days since I posted it.

This loss of styles is the second time this has happened and the delay in support assistance is really costing me a lot of time on the project deadline.

Please can you let me know what is causing the loss of styles and how to fix it.

Addition: I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the (recently updated) Kleo / child theme.
I’ve cleared all caches on all browsers and hard reloaded.
I’ve asked the host company to double check the caching just in case.
Turned the modules and speed combining options off and on again
Most plugins are still deactivated from last rebuild
Theres no error under themes about missing stylesheets
The child stylesheet is present and the pages source has a link to it themes/kleo-child/style.css
I’m not running any caching plugins
Tried activating the main Kleo theme, clearing local cache and hard reloading

This problem is very frustrating, please can you have a look and let me know how to stop this from happening?

Unfortunately Firefox and Chrome caught up and now the styling in those browsers has collapsed also.

Hi not yet, I only got the site back up late last night. I will need to re style all the various colors first.

You can probably solve this quite easily with some CSS without needing to see the site in action.

The theme styling configuration allows options for text, links, hovers. But there is no option for active. If you can give me the CC for active links in the menu, that should fix it.

Otherwise I will let you know when the styles are redone so you can see it not working for yourself.

On the other hand – my support request about blog item styling on the front page is still open 😉

okay my styles have returned. As you can see on the front page of the site, the masonry post items are not styled in the same way as the masonry post items on the rest of the site (e.g. Blogs).

Please let me know how I can style them the same way.

yes I had to reinstall after dealing with a bad plugin. I will restyle the site and let you know when it’s the same as before.

Don’t worry I have changed my admin username to my nickname and found some CSS on Google to hide the name fields everywhere.

In case any other users want to do the same thing:

1. install plugin – https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-usernames-only/

2. CSS

#register-page p { display: none;}
#profile-edit-form .field_1 { display: none;}
#signup_form .field_1 { display: none;}

I had to reinstall the site. It’s back now please have a look on the home page of the site.

As you can see, the blog items in masonry view on the home page do not match the blog items in masonry view on the blogs page. This seems to be the case whether I use essential grid, or any other means of posting blog items to the front page.

Please let me know how I can change the styles of the home page blog items to match the rest of the site.

I really do wish you would read the support queries this is the 3rd time you have given a completely irrelevant answer to a question.

I do not want to hide the @name.

As I said, on the admin account, it is showing the actual username, instead of the ‘show publicly’ name.

On another cover plugin I installed, it showed the correct ‘public’ name. Also, for other test users on the system, it is showing the correct public name. Not the system username.

But for my admin user it is showing the admin username. Which is 50% of the entire system admin credentials.

Since this seems to be generated from the 7th Queen cover plugin (which I am unsure of since I have not received a response to my other support query about the cover photo not working like the demo), I can only assume this is a problem with your plugin.

Please can you tell me how to fix this so it shows the correct public name, instead of the actual username.

ACTIVE links in submenus are white text on white background, so unreadable.

Don’t worry its just a design flaw. It happens if you move your mouse remotely left or right before going down into the notifications box.

Update: I set the ‘keep cover photo plugin’ option in Buddypress settings, and the cover photo functionality is back.

But I still don’t have the full width cover photo like on the Kleo demo example profile.

Please let me know how I can configure it to have a full width cover photo, many thanks.

that does not solve my issue.

I am guessing the cover photo plugin that came with the theme is “BuddyPress Cover Photo” by SeventhQueen? I have that activated. The cover photo still look nothing like the profile shown in the Kleo demo here:

The demo cover photo is full width. Mine is partial width. I have scoured all buddypress, appearance etc settings, I can see nowhere that configures full width profile cover photos.

On top of that, I just deactivated and reactivated the plugin to see if that made any difference. Now I have no cover photo options, the plugin does not seem to be working at all.
