All good now with release 4.3.6
Thank you Laura for your engagement and stefanlim for your input. Marking this is resolved.
adasinParticipantThank you very much Laura for looking into this. I have updated with original k-elements and also with the one you attached (+cleared cache & disabled/enabled k-element and theme) and it does not make a difference i.e. 4.3.5 causes the submit button to appear. I have reverted back to 4.3.4 for now.
Please keep an eye on this issue when it’s time for a new release – perhaps there would be a remedy after all.
Much appreciate your time.
adasinParticipantThank you very much Laura for this and all along. I’ll wait for a response in due time. My dev environment is local but if needed I can set up a temporary installation for the purpose.
adasinParticipantJust following up to make sure that the issue is being addressed or resolved with a patch for the time being. Thanks.
adasinParticipantAh thanks sharmstr. This leaves me with two questions though:
1) How can I switch back to display all posts by author – selecting “Message Link” doesn’t seem to do anything and
2) If Avatar enabled, how to hide avatar in post grid
Thanks.adasinParticipantAn after-thought:
Even with the tweak provided as soon one navigates away from the page it closes. It would be great if the offcanvas panel could persist when moving around the site until user decides to close it, that way it could serv as an on-demand sidebar – not sure if this is technically possible at all though. Just food for thought!adasinParticipantThank you very much @sharmstr once again for all your help. All good now with the tweak. Hope Kleo team takes note of my observation and considers to provide a user option for the auto close feature.
Just a note of caution for the uninitiated – minifying must be taken with care as it could bring the site down if not done properly.
Btw for those interested the referred line in the apps.js is:
// $(‘.offcanvas-sidebar’).removeClass(‘is-open’);
which in my file was line 1427.adasinParticipantThank you Sharmstr for confirming the issue. I had seen the other thread but I am afraid that pointing the front page to a static page and setting that page to have sidebar “none”, “Extra – for 3 columns pages” or “main sidebar” or a custom sidebar won’t make any difference. i.e. the issue persists. Can you confirm this as well?
Since the front page with list of blogs and corresponding sidebars is central to my design I guess I have to wait until the fix comes along with the next release unless there is an interim solution.
Thanks again.
adasinParticipantPerfect – many thanks. Not sure if this would be rectified in an upcoming release I put the new search.php in the child theme for the time being.
adasinParticipantshamstr, this is just amazing! You are a gentlelady and a scholar nonetheless! Thank you so much.
n.b. hope very much this would be included in the theme by the Kleo team in the near future.
adasinParticipantMany thanks to sharmstr and elv for spearheading the effort. Not sure if there has been a conclussion to this topic – would be interested in knowing more.
On a related note would appreciate any pointers on whether it is possible to present the user with the ability to switch between different views, e.g. masonry | list with excerpt | list with titles only. This is not just an arbitrary feature request by me but something that is finding widespread attention (various readability projects) and in line with efforts in web accessibilbilty. Much appreciate a feedback.
